Most painters don't have a body count on their website. Danny Setiawan is the exception—he’s artfully slathering 292 people with paint in 2012. He's been painting traditionally since he was a child in Indonesia, but after graduating from Parsons The New School For Design in New York, he shifted his brush from synthetic to living canvases, layering participants’ skin with lush koi fish, patterns, and re-creations of famous masterpieces. As he told The Today Show, Setiawan became a body painter to imbue his artwork with more relevancy. "You cannot ignore a piece of art if it's painted on a human body," he said, echoing the sentiments Da Vinci expressed when Da Vinci added a miniature Mona Lisa to the forehead of the Mona Lisa. Since he began filling his portfolio with body paintings, Setiawan's work has been far from ignored. In addition to visiting with Kathie Lee and Hoda, DenArt Studio has been recognized by Last Call with Carson Daly, as well as American Airlines, American Express, and Stoli. Many of his clients are not only attracted to the studio's colorful portfolio but also by its unique services. Guests can commission an artist to paint them clothed or unclothed as individuals or couples, expectant moms can opt for a maternity body-art session, and Halloween celebrants can enlist the studio's help bringing their costumes to life with body paint. At the onsite photo studio a photographer captures the resulting images in dramatic detail. Attendants can also paint each other at a casual Art on Live Canvas workshop, and ambitious artists looking to become the next Danny Setiawan can enroll in a body-painting or makeup course.

Since 1998, Bellalaser, Inc.’s certified technicians have cared for clients with a menu of noninvasive laser services for the skin and body. Using a laser armed with an integrated cooling system, licensed operators can help reduce or eliminate unwanted hair so patients can stop other hair-removal routines such as waxing or wearing a name tag while shirtless. Techs will also harness the power of the FDA-approved VelaShape laser system to reduce cellulite and shrink waist circumferences. Skin specialists use lasers to tighten and rejuvenate wrinkly skin, while aestheticians treat faces with a variety of non-laser procedures, including microdermabrasion, facials, and collagen masks. Bellalaser also carries a signature line of skincare products including sunblock, exfoliating body shampoo, and skin-tightening contouring gel.

Skin Science's team of licensed technicians helps eliminate unwanted fuzz and wrangle figures into more shapely profiles with noninvasive laser treatments. Laser hair-removal sessions bombard bristles with intense light energy, swiftly exterminating strands for long-lasting hairlessness. VelaShape treatments shower skinscapes with a profusion of radio frequencies designed to cause cells below the thighs, buttocks, love handles, or abdomen to suck in their collective guts and release excess fat into the lymphatic system, pulling the overlying skin into a pleasantly smooth surface. The procedures typically cause little to no pain, and, like traveling in a hovercraft, require no downtime.

Surrounded by leafy green plants, the treatment table at the Radiant: Massage Therapy and Integrative Wellness cushions visitors as a therapist combines stress-relieving bodywork with fundamental meditative techniques. This holistic emphasis stems from the owner's extensive massage training and his adherence to harmonizing zen and Shambhala Buddhist philosophies. During massages, he employs Swedish and deep-tissue modalities to knead organic oils and lotions into musculature, either promoting circulation or coaxing out muscle-bound toxins. The therapist encourages clients to focus on their breathing throughout the session, which leaves them as calm as a hibernating triceratops.
