Personal Touch Car Wash has been bolstering engines and beautifying car façades for 30 years. During the roughly 25-minute oil change and car wash, technicians fill autos with up to 5 quarts of conventional oil (synthetic available for an additional fee), install a filter, and inflate the tires to their specified pressure. After a chassis lube protects steering and suspension systems from premature wear caused by friction, techs check windshield wipers to confirm that blades fit correctly and growl whenever they hear the phrase “chance of precipitation.” Techs top off below-level fluids, check lights, hone in on belts, and ogle hoses to ensure safety. Speedy car washes liberate vehicles of outer dirt and grime as cleaners sniff out interior debris with a vacuum. A window cleaning parts the clouds on filmy glass, and techs tidy up doorjambs before cleaning tires and rims. The service concludes with a towel dry, leaving cars shiny, confident, and free of tears.

Andrew Goldstein saw the first Volkswagen Beetle roll onto his school's parking lot in 1958. He was in sixth grade, and his family's dealership was the town's main gateway for foreign cars. As Andrew grew, so did his love of the car industry. During high school, he took a job in a used car lot to gain experience before going to college, where he majored in automotive marketing. With a freshly printed degree in hand, he set to work at Riverbank Volkswagen under the watchful eye of his father, Seymour. According to Kara O'Connor of the Hour Online, Goldstein admitted that, though working for his father was difficult, "In the end it was better because now I run the business and I learned to do everything the right way." Today, Andrew is president of Riverbank Volkswagen, and two of his sons—Seth and Eric—work by his side. Much like his father, Seth started out at a young age, cleaning up grease and eventually landing a job as a technician before ascending the ladder to service manager. Eric, the Internet manager, learned the value of hard work by cleaning gutters and cars before finding his niche online. Both sons strive, along with their father, to maintain the reputation earned by their grandfather. For an auto dealership, surviving the past 50 years is either a sign that what they're doing is right or just the result of making three left turns.

Cranbury Service Station keeps autos rolling smoothly through a litany of necessary maintenance services. During a standard oil change, the station's certified automotive ameliorators replace old, worn-out oil with fresh-faced young fluid, straight from lubricant college and ready to take on the heat, dust, and high-stress pressures of today's high-octane internal combustion world. To help new oil adjust to its job of safeguarding precious moving parts, gaskets, and various shafts, a fresh oil filter is included. After tires are rotated to ensure even wear, the mechanics at Cranbury Service Station perform a meticulous safety inspection, checking fluids, tire pressure, lights, and more. The roughly 90-minute service keeps cars of all makes and models careening headlong down the highway as smoothly as an ice statue down a freshly greased bowling alley.

From their three locations, the auto mavens at Platinum Car Wash & Oil employ advanced water-reclamation systems and power-conscious equipment during cleaning and maintenance services. The facility's full-service car-wash tunnels spray paint jobs with Simoniz soaps, waxes, and foams before staff members dab rides with microfiber towels. They continue hands-on touch during signature or 20-minute express detailing sessions that unfold as auto owners explore the waiting area's magazines, complimentary WiFi, or leather couch cushions.

Opposed to using recycled or reprocessed oils, the crew spurs pistons with Mobil oil and complimentary top-offs between services. They also help boost car with lube services, such as transmission drains, tire rotations, and VPS fuel-rail services that dislodge harmful debris and misplaced CDs from fuel- and air-intake systems.
