Hungary, 1964: Viktor's grandparents first looked through the lens of a camera and saw their future as professional photographers. Dallas, 2013: Viktor carries on that vision as a third-generation photographer, snapping shots under the banner of Zalafoto USA. "[I] grew up spending many hours a day in [the] photo studio, where I learned my people skills," Viktor says, tying his ability to put clients as their ease to his success at creating charming, naturalistic portraits. He photographs his subjects at every stage of life, in-studio or on-location. Viktor captures the first smiles of newborns in cribs, the dual grins of couples on their wedding days, and the multiplied beaming expressions of parents and children as they pose for in- and outdoor portraits. He also turns his eye toward inanimate objects, snapping product photography of jewelry, furniture, and husbands for sale.
Alfonso Ayala, who's been snapping photos for more than a decade and has professional graphic-design experience, loves to capture life's happiest moments, which is why he specializes in wedding and family photography. He also loves the technical aspect of photography and spends his free time experimenting with lights, equipment, and accessories, such as lens toupees, to figure out what steps he needs to take to capture the best image. Artful close-ups, classic portraits, and candid kisses pepper his portfolio, which represents a range of wedding vignettes.
Whether she's framing a sultry boudoir pose, an actor's headshot, a couple's wedding vows, or a proud high-school senior, Victoria Schklair keeps her eyes peeled for fleeting candid moments to capture on film. During her on-location and in-studio sessions, she harnesses natural light to frame her clients using a photojournalistic style. After reviewing each color or black-and-white shot, Victoria preserves her best images as edited and retouched proofs, in panoramic press books, and on DVD slideshows set to music or a favorite political sound bite.
The photos we leave behind may be the only way for future generations to see the styles and personalities we bear. That’s why the professional makeup artists and photographers at Glamour Shots strive to capture the true essence of a person with their shoots. Whether commemorating a milestone event or a successful trip to the grocery store, each session begins with the shop’s signature full airbrush and style makeover, which works to prevent unwanted shine while imparting a chic aesthetic. Makeup artists tailor looks to the purpose of the shoot, imparting children with a red-cheeked glow and boudoir subjects with a dark, seductive color palette.
Photographers encourage everyone to bring a few outfits and props from home, allowing them to give each photo shoot an individualized touch without snapping close-ups of their subjects’ fingerprints. Clients get to see the photos immediately so they can approve the looks and order their favorite shots in the form of pictures, phone cases, or calendars. A professional lab then prints out the chosen items using a range of color finishes—including colorization to make one color pop and the company's signature Glamour Touch retouching—onto made-to-last Kodak paper.
