Lisa Postell learned to bake in the most familiar of classrooms: her great grandmother's kitchen. She and her great grandmother and mother would make cakes and meals for all occasions, and Lisa developed a true passion for the work. After 22 years in the army, she decided to return to that first love, and opened Boro Town Cakes to begin her career as a baker.
Lisa loves to feed people breakfast and lunch at Boro Town Cakes, but her true specialty is dessert. She makes beautiful and elaborate custom cakes and cupcakes for any occasion. She's crafted such creations as a 40th birthday cake topped with a chocolate high heel, an anniversary cake with edible filigree, and cupcakes iced to look like blossoming roses, with all the cake thorns safely removed.
