Save the hostage and defend the fort. These are just two of the eight games Whistler Paintball's employees supervise as players of all levels weave their way across four outdoor battlefields. Sprinkled with man-made forts and tires, each wooded, steep, or wide-open field poses a challenge for players as they dodge nontoxic paintballs and explain the meaning of existentialism to field mice. Before the games begin, group and individual players don camo clothing and a fog-reducing mask, which has an attached ribbon to help gamers identify their teammates during battle. A BT Omega Assault or MP3 semiautomatic paintball gun completes the outfit. Players then watch an equipment demonstration and safety briefing before enjoying 20-minute games on any of the four playing fields, which are open all year round. Whistler Paintball also provides a covered concession stand and free parking lot and can arrange shuttle pickup services when requested.
Sunlight streams through the canopy and illuminates a waterfall hidden in the dense woods. A river carves its way through grassy fields as a lake stretches beyond tree-covered hills and recedes in the distance. These sights are just a few of the magnificent wonders you can discover across British Columbia. The guides at Harrison Eco Tours have seen them all and bring that expertise on guided trips through the great outdoors. The team can lead jet-boat, kayaking, and hiking tours across these and other natural landmarks. The team also leads fishing expeditions to catch salmon, sturgeon, and steelhead trout on the Fraser River, bringing the thrill of the chase to the calm surroundings of nature.
Located where the Caren and Richardson mountain ranges slip into the Pacific Ocean, Pedals and Paddles sits on spectacular trailheads for hiking, camping, and kayaking. When paddling through the crystal-clear inlet waters on kayaks or standup paddleboards in guided or self-guided tours, clients can gaze at the ocean floor to commune with seafaring creatures such as starfish, sea cucumbers, and—if they're lucky—dolphins and orcas. Explorers can also camp on the beaches at Piper Point, Tuwanek Beach, or Oyster Beach, where they can sleep in between swimmable waters and the towering pines of the mountains.
A waterfall surges into a subterranean river. Towering peaks dotted with evergreen trees loom on a distant shore. A fire pit billows wood smoke into the sky. At Horne Lake, guides spend each day connecting visitors with Qualicum Beach's natural splendour. Certified cave guides also lead a series of excursions through the natural majesty of Horne Lake Caverns, where a network of rocky passageways wind around a subterranean river and gleaming crystal compositions reach up to four stories tall under soaring gallery ceilings. They also conduct nature-based leadership programs such as team building and ropes courses.
