On Saturday, December 22, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Dos Lagos Food Truck Festival will take over the parking lot at the Shops at Dos Lagos with strains of live music and the savory scents of freshly prepared food. More than 20 food trucks are expected, ranging from sausage-centric The Viking Truck to Suite 106 Cupcakery. Visitors can also nibble free samples or sip cold brews in a beer garden.
Named in homage to Riverside, California's turn-of-the-century citrus packinghouses, this microbrewery handcrafts four year-round beers. The easy-drinking Sunburst Blonde pairs perfectly with a summer day, and the malty Black Beauty Cream Stout brims with scent of roasted barley. The Heritage Pale Ale and the Riley's Red Ale round out the year-round offerings. Besides the core four, the brewery creates an ever-expanding series of IPAs, as well as several specialty and seasonal libations. Inside Packinghouse's tasting room, bartenders pour pints of each day's available brews, which are also available to take home by the bottle and growler.
From the glowing pendant lamps to the delicate European pastries lined up inside glass cases, Dolce Bistro & Bakery is the living, breathing vision of Alice Lee. Growing up in restaurants, Lee knew she wanted to start something of her own—but she wanted it to be unique. At Dolce, classic American gastropub cuisine is served alongside a variety of craft beers. Diners can enjoy sit-down service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
A thatched roof hangs over the namesake bar at Tiki Island Bar & Grill. In addition to sheltering bartenders from the sweltering indoor sun, this tropical decoration pays tribute to the Hawaiian-style dishes that emerge from the kitchen. These include grilled shrimp quesadillas with mango salsa, mahi mahi, and tacos brimming with slow-roasted Kahlua pork. Island ingredients also sneak onto salads in the form of shredded carrots, diced tomatoes, barbecue ranch dressing, and Katsu chicken—a type of deep-fried, panko-crusted tender.
Beyond the tiki bar, more than 30 flat-screen televisions surround a spacious main room replete with four billiards tables.
Founded on a mission to forge local educational partnerships and provide community enrichment through music, the nonprofit Corona Symphony Orchestra treats Circle City ears to everything from choral classics and opera, to film scores, pops, and original pieces. Conducted under the watchful hand of symphony maestro Marco A. Mejia, the orchestra enamors eardrums as the new jazz ensemble, featuring the sliding notes and scat stylings of Buddy Rich, Stan Kenton, and Duke Ellington, takes the stage on April 16.
Precision Tune Auto Care's trained staff taps into 35 years in business to keep horseless chariots running and rolling smoothly. During the oil change, experienced mechanics replace oil filters, lubricate the chassis, and fill motorized bellies with up to 5 quarts of standard motor oil. For an extra fee, customers can upgrade to canister filters or other oils including semisynthetic, synthetic, 5W-20, and fax-machine tears. A tire rotation helps to balance out tread wear, and a four-wheel alignment check ensures that autos' axles are in line with one another. To wrap up the service, auto wizards inspect brake systems for issues that may prevent cars from stopping before they hit an innocent pothole.
