The experienced staff at Seaforth Boat Rentals play host to watery adventures that were voted finalists for the KGTV San Diego A-List’s Best Water Activities in 2010 and 2011. Guided sailing adventures and WaveRunner tours shoot seafarers along the waterways for exceptional views of the coastline, splashing sea life, and dolphins circling on their own WaveRunners.

Consummate aquaphiles can haul various benefits⎯including reduced rates on the rentals of kayaks, canoes, and other seaworthy crafts, access to all five Seaforth locations, and free bicycle rentals in Mission Bay⎯with the Seaforth Sailing Club membership. Seaforth also offers sailing classes along with myriad sailing, yachting, and fishing charters for luxurious days on the water or early mornings spent serenading elusive sailfish.

At Emerald City Academy of Rhythmic Gymnastics, girls learn more than the graceful, expressive sport of rhythmic gymnastics—they also glean life skills and values that will help them flourish into adulthood. As they master the enchanting routines—twirling ribbons, spinning hoops, and tossing balls—they develop a sense of discipline and determination. Simultaneously, girls increase their strength, balance, and flexibility, which can help them gracefully leap over a precariously placed banana peel. The team of dedicated instructors, which includes professional rhythmic gymnastics coaches, leads girls as young as 1.5 years old in experimenting with movement and rhythm, as well as those ready to dominate opponents on the competitive level.

Students unleash their inner creativity during Wine and Palette's laid-back painting classes. The professional-artist instructors invent projects that reflect their individual style, from bold abstract patterns to misty, atmospheric landscapes. Though all members of a course work on the same basic image, students add individual flourishes to make the image their own. And, since each class meets at a local bar or restaurant, they can also choose to kick back with a drink or snack as they paint.

At Wine A Bit Coronado, meals and drinks go down in sips and nibbles. The owners wanted an environment in which people could feel free to unwind while trying new wines and interesting pairings at their own pace. To that end, they collected a wine list from around the world, along with a robust selection of house wines made especially for them. They hold casual tastings in a comfy back room every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening, pouring samples of up to seven wines for guests to try. These events tend to coincide with the presence of a musician, who offers up tunes to please the ears as visitors train their palates and sample appetizers such as artisan flatbreads and brie-and-apple stacks drizzled with agave nectar. Also onsite are more than 20 craft beers made by local brewers.
