4-C Stables hands equine enthusiasts the reins to its team of even-tempered horses for trail rides, camps, and lessons within its expansive facility. Stable owner Stacey, a veterinary technician by training, heads up 4-C's 60-minute horsemanship lessons, which are tailored to each rider's experience and introduce varied aspects of horses and horse care. Students begin with the basics of safety and grooming before matriculating to more advanced equitation topics, such as dismounting and riding in slow motion for dramatic effect. With successful completion of all beginner-level requirements, students can graduate to intermediate studies, where they learn such skills as proper care of the tack, issuing verbal commands, and riding with the correct posture.

At Dream Horse Academy, riders of all skill levels study the techniques of Western-style riding with veteran trainers and friendly, hoofed creatures. Head trainer Jenna Wurtele has been riding horses since the age of 5 and spent much of her childhood involved in junior rodeos and various horse associations, such as the National Reining Horse Association. She draws from her experiences working for first-class reining barns and judging open equine shows to build strong bonds between horses and their riders. With an enormous covered arena, Dream Horse Academy’s handlers can practice their craft in any weather. Horse-owners can also enroll their four-legged friends into training programs that prepare equines for upcoming shows and spelling bees.
A former brickyard may not be the first place one would think to build a golf course, but Old Brickyard Golf Course has succeeded in turning the one-time site of Ferris Brick Company into a fun-and-surprising 6,486-yard layout. By working around three former quarries, the course architect added stark elevation changes and wide-open vistas to the par 71 course. TifEagle greens roll atop land that was once nothing but rugged, natural clay, creating smooth, fast surfaces that make any two-putt a tricky proposition. Before taking to the course, golfers energize with hot dogs and drinks at the clubhouse, warm up swings at the all-grass driving range, or bury time capsules in the practice bunker so they can remember what life was like before their 18-hole rounds.
Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 71 course * Total length of 6,486 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 70.6 from the back tees * Course slope of 125 from the back tees * Three sets of tees per hole * Scorecard

The Academy's proven itinerary of hitting, pitching, fielding, and baserunning drills was developed by an advisory board of college coaches and Major League players, including Cy Young Award?winner and ace pitcher Brandon Webb.
