This diverse and challenging workout gives you the long, lean muscles and elegant posture of a ballet dancer, all without the discomfort and inconvenience of being heckled by ballet hooligans.
From Divine Movement's twin studios in Kirkland and Seattle, co-owners Angi Cardwell and Jennifer Patenaude oversee a sultry suite of pole-dance and boudoir-dance classes set to the sounds of heart-pumping rock, indie, and hip-hop. Though not specifically a workout regimen, the floor-based and pole-vaulted routines are high-energy maneuvers that help to boost confidence and create a positive self-image. Six-week series cater to beginners and intermediate seductresses, and more advanced drop-in sessions cover holds, inverted handstands, and midair tea service. The dress code calls for comfortable yoga-style wear and bare feet or legwarmers.
Eastside Stomp is the name for a collective of swing dance teachers and enthusiasts based on the Eastside of the Greater Seattle area. We are dedicated to teaching, performing, preserving, evolving and promoting the many vintage-based forms of swing dance, as well as the music and style of the Swing Era.
Pacific Dance Center’s experienced instructors teach people how to shimmy, hip swivel, and glide across the floor by breaking dance lessons up into three parts. During private classes, they teach the basics of several popular ballroom-dance styles, ensuring students have a solid dance foundation. They then use technique lessons to concentrate on one specific style, showing students how to develop their footwork and timing while sweeping from partner to partner or from partner to coat-wearing mop. Dance parties allow students to get together to practice everything they’ve learned, from waltz and tango to salsa and rumba.

At this spacious, mirror-lined studio, energetic and certified instructors lead Zumba, Pilates, P90X, and cardio kickboxing sessions, among a slew of other high-energy dance classes. After class, the studio's infrared sauna uses gentle heat and invisible spectrum light to help with detoxification and weight loss.
