The trainers at CrossFit The Point inspire members to build out bulk, buff up cores, and enhance speed and agility through intense daily workouts. They change up the workouts to keep things interesting, having participants do everything from lifting weights and crunches to playing games of toss with medicine balls and gymnastic movements on the rings. It’s a system that works out all muscle groups, preparing their members for every kind of physical and sports activity, while also making day-to-day actions easier.
In olden days, people showed off their strength by jousting or flexing their mustaches. But at Maverik Man Games, both men and women prove their mettle with less violent feats of strength, such as launching a fellow teammate from a giant slingshot. Designed for individuals as well as teams, the competition encompasses up to 10 challenges, which range from showcasing your basketball-shooting skills to wrestling pigs into a barrel. Along with its land-bound activities, Maverik Man Games includes a variety of aqua-centric events, such as a giant rope swing and human slingshot.
Held over two days, the eccentric decathlon takes about two to three total hours to complete. Participants that place in the top three overall or for each challenge are rewarded with cash and prizes. And, all participants are likewise rewarded at the end of the circuit with tasty food, and live music.

Husband-and-wife team Damon and Priscilla Stewart have turned their 6,000-square-foot gym into a veritable fitness factory, so much so that they're in the process of expanding to 11,000-square-feet. With the help of a smattering of barbells, Damon's nearly 5,000 hours teaching CrossFit, and constantly changing daily workouts, the duo churns out more chiseled bodies than the assembly lines that manufactured Michelangelo's sculptures. Along for the ride are coaches with résumés that cover everything from college sports, multiple marathons and triathlons, and careers in law enforcement.
David Goodwin’s back pain was so severe that he couldn’t bend over to sit on the floor and play with his kids. In his search for relief, he stumbled upon a CrossFit class. As he returned again and again for four months, he found that each week his pain was less than it had been the previous week. The results saved playtime with his kids and compelled him to complete his training certifications for CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Endurance.
Today, David works at Hermes CrossFit, where he and several other CrossFit Level 1–certified trainers guide exercisers of all fitness levels through CrossFit’s workout of the day. The routines incorporate a changing hodgepodge of bodyweight, gymnastic, Olympic lifting, plyometric, and dragon-tickling exercises that classes of students complete quickly and intensely.
