Voted Best Yoga Studio in 2010 by The Reader's Best of the Big O, One Tree Yoga's 20 experienced instructors lead students through a massive schedule of up to 66 weekly classes, covering styles including Bikram, Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Ashtanga. Beginners bask in the yoga basics class, which walks enlightenment seekers through traditional yoga poses, alignment, and the art of breathing while impersonating their nasal co-workers. Yin yoga classes pamper the connective tissues by focusing on long holds in seated or reclined positions, and expectant mothers can mellow their physical and emotional states during pre-natal yoga classes. The all-levels Vinyasa class helps pupils to master breathing exercises and traditional hatha stretches, and the 26-pose Bikram yoga class transpires in a heated room that promotes flexibility and deep cleansing, as well as causing any marshmallows smuggled into the studio to double in size.
The Yoga Path's classes are based on Hatha yoga techniques and geared towards all skill and activity levels. Drop-in classes are held several times a week and run between 60–90 minutes. Small class sizes along with hands-on instruction and telepathic communicating from skilled instructors ensure that each student receives individualized attention. Aspiring contortionists are led through a variety of poses that help increase strength, flexibility, and endurance. After class, sweat-drenched bodies and minds can replenish with tea and chatter and yoga veterans malleable as warm wax and neophytes unable to touch their toes are equally welcome. Drop-ins are asked to call or email before attending class.
Lotus House offers group classes that are based on the Ashtanga and Flow yoga practices. Regular practice of these techniques can improve muscle tone and flexibility, reduce stress, and stimulate weight loss. Each class is taught by one of the impassioned and nimble instructors, trained to reverberate the positive vibes of soothing music while motivating students to slither into blissful poses on the studio's bamboo floor.
People seek out yoga for a variety of reasons. Some are looking to manage stress, others are searching for a spiritual connection, and some want to lose weight or boost flexibility. The experienced instructors at Omaha Yoga & Bodywork Center understand this. As such, they offer a welcoming, peaceful environment––and a variety of class styles––so all students can get the most out of their yoga practice. A variety of classes are offered, including two levels of hatha yoga, chair yoga, and kirtan yoga, which includes chanting mantras and yoga prayers.
Kelli Morgan is so passionate about yoga that she can't help but share it with others. Her zeal for the discipline surfaced in 1989, when she began studying Bikram yoga, a series of 26 poses performed in a heated room. Eleven years later, she completed the 500-hour teacher-training program at Bikram's Yoga College of India and launched a career as a hot-yoga teacher. Since then, she's also incorporated traditional, non-heated yoga into her class lineup at Liv Yoga Bellevue. Hatha sessions focus on alignment and breathing techniques, whereas Vinyasa classes meld breath and movement into a practice that moves fluidly, like a freshly shaven dolphin. The studio also hosts yoga classes for kids aged 4–10 and participates in community events such as Yoga Rocks the Park.
