Article 2 Gun Range is an eight-range shop staffed by expert NRA-certified marksmen. They teach courses ranging from the basics of firearm handling to advanced pistol or NRA-qualification lessons. They also host quickshot tournaments, which challenge shooters to blast targets as fast as they can. Additionally, every Tuesday night, the range is the site of a zombie apocalypse, during which shooters purchase and take aim at gray-faced zombie targets filled with fake blood.
Zombie encounters, traditional target shooting, skill-building games, and various other scenarios play out on the virtual range's 16'x9' high-definition screen.
Mock handguns, shotguns, and rifles re-create the sounds and recoil of their real-world counterparts.
Arm Yourself Inc's simulator also allows for firearms training. These sessions are led by instructors Chris Burne and Tom Hogan, whose careers have made them experts in the use of firearms. Burne served in the Marines, and both have worked as police officers.
After the lecture portion of each lesson, instructors and students travel to a nearby range for live-fire instruction.
While many use their own firearms, instructors can also supply a practice firearm such as a .22 during training.
The instructors at Law Weapons & Supply believe knowledge is as vital to responsible firearm handling as attitude and technical knowhow. That's why each of their classes, which range from basic pistol training to women-only classes that focus on self-defense, teaches beginner through advanced shooters with a combination of classroom and live-fire instruction. Beyond the training facilities, Law Weapons & Supply extends to a pro shop with a full-service gunsmith on the premises.
All of Firearm Safety Group's classes include range time. Depending on the lesson, instructors may teach at an indoor or outdoor range in the area.
Students often use their own firearms, though instructors can supply rental guns as needed.
The certified instructors at Safe-House Group, LLC help men and women learn the basics of shooting on a range or consider firearm ownership. The training faculty also includes CPR instructors, who teach lifesaving skills to both medical professionals and the general public.
Top Shot Class' instructors teach at various local outdoor and indoor ranges, such as Article II.
Top Shot Class's NRA-certified curriculum covers the basics of firearms such as pistols. In these classes the instructors, who also hold NRA licenses, introduce fundamental concepts, such as identifying gun malfunctions, how to safely store firearms, and how ammunition works from a technical standpoint. From there, they guide students during live-fire practice and cover techniques for everything from personal protection to sporting clays.
