The certified instructors at Vertical Girl Fitness elevate the art of exercise by guiding male and female participants through stretches and limb-fortifying poses middair. In Anti-Gravity Yoga classes, small hammocks suspend students 3 feet above the ground, asking gravity to apply gentle resistance to muscles and giving radio-controlled cars free rein of the floor. In addition to yoga-like poses, workouts feature elements of dance, Pilates, gymnastics, and calisthenics, while upside-down poses—also known as inversions—offer blissful moments of zero compression that may help stimulate the circulatory, endocrine, and digestive systems. As spines decompress, disks hydrate and realign, increasing flexibility and mobility.
The Mud Warrior race transforms runners into brave and messy heroes with more than 4.5 miles of muddy terrain and at least 20 obstacles. Inspired by the mud races of ancient Greece and the New York Philharmonic, each race teems with exciting obstructions such as flames, tunnels, and a 50-foot slide. While trotting, wriggling, and crawling ahead of the pack, athletes traverse three mud pits, including one located near the finish line, where they bask in the glory of completing the challenge. Post-victory, warriors refuel with snacks that leave them as charged up as a robot kissing an electrical socket. The Warrior Party invites participants and spectators to fete the day’s achievements with mud-wrestling bouts, gargantuan turkey legs (not included in today’s deal), and live music from the William Walter Band.

Great Play's myriad classes, activities, and programs operate with a single focus in mind: to spark kids’ passion for physical activity. Inside its interactive arena, the walls' projector screens, sensors, and directional sound system allow kids to "break bottles" and limbo on beaches during noncompetitive games and activities—all while boosting their motor and athletic skills. An upbeat staff monitors the arena's playing field and adheres to the SCORE training method, which teaches youngsters how to swing a baseball bat, bribe slam-dunk-competition judges, and trap a soccer ball by breaking each skill into a series of positively reinforced smaller steps.
The Great Play staff also hosts special events, tailoring birthday parties to birthday kids’ likings. Parents Night Out events, on the other hand, let caregivers drop off their children for a supervised evening of playing in the gym, feasting on pizza, and catching G-rated flicks on a 100-square-foot screen.
Part hot yoga studio and part traditional yoga space, the Stafford House of Yoga welcomes students of all skill levels to experience the healing and fitness aspects of yoga. From the moment students step into the lobby, they can enjoy the calming vibe and discernible lack of laughing hyenas. Half of the studio is dedicated to hot yoga classes, such as hot Vinyasa-flow classes that build strong, flexible bodies as students detox and re-energize. The other part of the studio is reserved for nonheated classes, such as the TGIF Stress Buster or morning flow sessions. Outside on the back deck, students sip on cool lemon water and organic teas, and the studio also hosts outdoor qi gong, meditation, and gardening classes.
We offer Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, and Yoga classes for kids and adults.
