Created with the purpose of furthering collaboration and artistic development among photographers of all skill levels, The Los Angeles Photo School pairs beginner and experienced photographers with acclaimed and prolific pioneers in the field. Alongside professional instructors such as Dove Shore, Joseph Cultice, and Brian Bowen Smith—whose hard-to-miss work is often found on magazine covers, editorial features, and ads—students at the school are be able to learn everything from the basics of lighting to high-fashion photography from some of the best in the industry. The school also boasts a low teacher-to-student ratio, giving mentees the full attention and high-five exclusivity of their instructors.
Student-created artwork lines the white walls of Hands-on 3rd's two studio spaces, the second of which belongs to partner company Art Works. The organizations share talented instructors, filling up the schedule at each location with drawing, painting, and sculpting classes from Art Works and yarn-work and sewing classes from Hands-on 3rd's staff. Whether a project requires a fresh stick of charcoal or a darning needle, an ample inventory arms students with the supplies needed to finish their projects, such as sketching a mustache on a dozing deskmate.

Sensei Takashi Hasegawa, a third-degree black belt, instructs kids and adults in the ancient art of karate at Kyokushin Karate. Classes are catered to kids (aged 4–6 and 7–12) and adults (aged 13+), with some classes emphasizing sparring.
Kline Academy of Fine Arts was founded by Cheryl Kline, a working artist whose own training as a painter took place under masters in Florence, Italy. Together with her faculty, she teaches classes which the school splits into two categories: foundation classes for mastering the basics of painting and figure drawing, and classes for creativity, which cover topics ranging from landscapes to abstract art.
When other kids played in the street, imagining lives as astronauts or cops, Leslie McKenna played in the kitchen, already a chef in her heart. Her childhood passion persisted, earning her a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University, praise in the pages of Bon Appétit for her pastas and desserts, and a job as Bob Hope’s private chef. In 2005, she decided to share her love with a new generation of aspiring culinary artists, so she founded Chefs, Inc. as a place to learn, cook, and have fun.
Today, her school hosts a wide array of cooking classes, when it isn’t occupied as a film set by shows such as Millionaire Matchmaker. The classes range from Julia Child’s classic French recipes to a dipping-sauce course focusing on grilled and fried eats slathered in custom condiments. She even teaches a knife-skills class, preparing students to slice and dice food like a professional, quickly chopping money or deftly cracking the fruit of the money tree to reveal the paycheck inside.
