Today's Groupon takes you to a nicely balconied land with freshly laundered sheets, immaculate bathrooms, well-vacuumed carpet, and tiny, tiny shampoos. Book a night at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, and see Bedford Springs in all its colors (Bedford Springs has more than half of the colors on the ROYGBIV spectrum, as well as six undiscovered colors visible only to the pure of heart). Often seen lugging his typewriter through the lobby, Bringher is still writing at the breakneck pace of two novellas a week, although his subject matter has become distracted as the years have passed. Here are the last few additions to the MSB oeuvre:
Before Dr. Jason Winseck became a doctor of chiropractic medicine, he was a high school student with a debilitating sports injury. After waiting for his lower back pain to resolve itself, he went to a local chiropractor and received both an accurate diagnosis and fast relief. This experience inspired him to learn more about how chiropractic techniques worked, so he spent weeks shadowing his doctor after school and observing the physician's attentiveness with each patient. After high school, Jason enrolled in New York Chiropractic College and graduated in 2002 after enduring a challenging curriculum. He later opened Cascades Chiropractic, where he assuages bodily aches with adjustments and massages and clears out cellular waste with detoxifying treatments. When he isn't helping his patients achieve health, he maintains an active lifestyle by golfing, fishing, and running with his chocolate lab, which he bought at a candy store.
Originally opened in 1987, Shear Power pampers the Ranson community with indulgent spa and salon services that nourish the skin and the hair with botanically-derived Aveda products. The staff includes several stylists, an aesthetician and makeup specialist, a massage therapist, and an independent nail technician who operates out of the salon. These professionals all work together to spruce up clients’ appearances by designing a flattering hairdo, pampering and revitalizing visages, or using gel polishes to perform long-lasting mani-pedis.
As a physical therapist with his own private practice, Hand and Stone founder and chief operating officer John Marco made sure that he kept abreast of the rapidly growing health and wellness industry. After a period of careful research and planning, John decided to create a spa based around convenience and affordability?Hand and Stone Massage Facial Spa.
Since its launch, Hand and Stone has expanded to more than 20 states. The spa?s core concept is to offer massage, facial, and waxing services performed by licensed, certified, or registered professionals and offered at convenient times, seven days a week. Each location adheres to a traditional spa aesthetic with soft lighting, heated treatment tables, and plush linens.
For Body Beautiful's team of cosmetic experts, it?s not enough to simply treat patients? skin, veins, or cellulite. The med-spa?s staff is also focused on helping patients understand the issues they?re facing and how they can be treated most effectively, which is why all patients begin their relationship with the spa with a personal consultation. Only then does Body Beautiful draw on its arsenal of high-tech services, including treatments that include diode-laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and fractional skin resurfacing and rejuvenation designed to minimize skin irritation. The team also uses lasers?along with peels, ultrasound facials, microdermabrasion, and other approaches?to combat acne and spider veins, and its laser toenail fungus removal helps prepare feet for warm-weather footwear. To complement its other technological techniques, Body Beautiful also offers body-contouring wraps, which rely on a mixture of radio frequency, infrared light, fillers and Botox, and teeth whitening.
Candy Kids Spa combines things that kids love—including more than 100 types of candy, candy-flavored facial masks, a heaping helping of personalized attention, and fun activities such as karaoke—into one memorable experience. It should come as no surprise that the company's formula is a successful one, since it was, in fact, inspired by a 6-year-old. As she told Elizabeth Carey in a 2010 Buffalo Business First feature, owner Ayanna Williams came up with the concept when her daughter requested her own special treatment after seeing the pampering going on at a traditional spa.
Williams and her daughter decided to retrieve some frosting out of the cabinet and had a good time creating their very own tasty "facial." Williams's daughter told her friends at school about it, and soon Williams started traveling to people's homes for mobile parties. She then bought a storefront on Niagara Falls Boulevard, gutting the building herself and painting the walls in bright rainbow colors. Williams eventually expanded the business to include two more locations in New York state and is in the process of creating franchises elsewhere.
The innovative spa, which has been featured on WKBW Channel 7 News, offers services ranging from candy-colored mani-pedis to a spa factory where kids can make their own lip gloss and candy-scented perfume. They also host parties to celebrate a birthday or a long-awaited truce in a war over which sister gets to sleep on the top bunk.
