With vibrant specimens and detailed instruction, Petals for the People assists floral fans in creating their own fetching arrangements. Each customer will receive a bundle of seasonal flowers and greens that can be grouped into two or three arrangements, as well as access to helpful online instruction that can mold nature’s colorful flair into eye-catching bouquets. While many grocery stores stock flowers on the shelf for an extended period of time, Petals for the People collects the freshest and most intriguing flowers from the U.S., South America, Holland, and Thailand and ships them directly to the customer from its warehouse. The resulting product is a striking and long-lasting arrangement that’s sure to spruce up any home, office, or captain’s quarters on a circumnavigating carrack.
A&I Books prints photographs onto mirrors using advanced printing technology, giving UV-protected images a reflective canvas on which to play. After selecting a favorite family snapshot or pet rock self-portrait, shutterbugs upload .JPEG or .TIFF files to A&I's Mirrorprint site. Technicians then use the HP Scitex 500 to emboss images onto looking glasses, treating each print with UV light to ensure long-lasting color. Darkroom-dynamos perform color and density correction to enhance images and remove errant bunny fingers. Once the process is complete, photos emerge strikingly framed and supported by uncovered reflective glass. Transparent memories sail to doorsteps within five business days.
Gallery owner Jeph DeLorme and his shutter-savvy team believe different photography genres deserve distinctive styles and approaches. The team divides its shoots into nine categories, which range from family portraits to boudoir shoots, creating a house style to match the mood of each.
Perhaps the most traditional, family portraits choreograph action, props, and settings to reflect each subject's personality. Other styles daringly use props and photo editing to create hyper-stylized images that seem to draw influence from film, comic books, fashion magazines, and the dreams of Nostradamus. "Not-so-retro" pinups, for example, mingle old-style pinup fashions such as garters and cascading curls with dramatic backgrounds or sexy props that exude modern confidence. Shutterbugs work out of a 2,000-square-foot studio or travel to meet clients on location, often in a sunny park or a symbolic carpool lane.
During an outdoor photo shoot conducted by Gloss’s experienced shutter savants, you and your fellow subjects will be carefully posed and allowed to let loose in front of the lens for up to 30 minutes. Armed with top-of-the-line Canon equipment, photographers will snap between 20 and 40 shots during the session. Afterward, subjects can select the glamorous-est shot and have it printed in 8”x10” form in a precision lab. You’ll also receive a digital copy of the chosen image, which means you can digitally edit, email, or print it to your analog heart's content. Whether you are married, soon to be married, or a child reading at an eighth-grade level, Gloss's professional photo services can freshen up any headshot, holiday card, or driver's license.
Under the keen direction of Golden Streets Photography's friendly, professional photogs, you’ll capture the still-life story that you aim to tell. Golden Streets' studio may be appropriate for senior portraits, and a beautiful outdoor locale, such as a well-maintained baseball field or a low-lit back alley, can provide a fitting backdrop for engagement photos or family shots. After the one-hour snap session, Golden Streets will provide two 8”x10” prints for oversized wallets and digital copies of the shoot stored on DVD or CD, giving you access and reproduction rights so you can print photos liberally at any local print shop. Likewise, you can use the digital copies to share frozen moments via the Internet.
Up to five people can be simultaneously captured during the session, so invite your distant cousins or all your clones for a momentous family shoot. About two weeks after the snapping comes to a close, the images will be ready for an online proofing, in which each photo is given a full psychological exam to make sure that it meets Kelley's rigorous standards. Kelley will then print whichever shots you desire in a variety of sizes with your $20 credit, as well as upload your photos to Facebook if you so choose. A 4”x6” print is $4, an 8”x10” is $12–$16, and the giant-sized 16”x20” print is $88–$96. After the $20 credit is exhausted, you will receive 25% off any additional prints. The gallery will remain online for a month, giving ample time to procure extra prints once the initial supply has been autographed and given to adoring fans.
