Beauty Store & Salon plethora of professional-grade hair, nail, skincare, and cosmetic products give you plenty of ways to glow like a flattered firefly on its honeymoon. A vial of OPI nail polish ($8.50) will gloss your finger helmets while a bottle of Moroccan oil treatment ($40.79) will tame your tresses until they're sleeker and shinier than a glazed otter. Gird your face for atmospheric re-entry with a generous coat of Jane Iredale matte pressed base ($49.50). Beauty Store also carries Thymes brand bath and body products and TRAPP candles ($3.50–$25).
Hairstyling is a collaborative process at Image by Farrah. The salon's signature consultation process promises every client a chance to sit down with their stylist prior to treatment in order to express their image goals or concerns. The stylists, for their part, listen and add their professional advice before bringing to reality what the client had envisioned in their mind, seen in a magazine, or dreamt of during class. This is just one example of how Image by Farrah stresses customized hair design; stylists also take craft hairstyles with an eye for their clients' hair types, skin tones, and bone structures. So, regardless of whether people come in for a haircut, dimensional coloring, balayage, or keratin treatment, they'll walk out with a hairdo that's been tailored to their traits and puts their most flattering features in profile.
Twenty-five equals the number of years the Hair Elegance Nails staff has been at it. That quarter century of skill building helps them render services in a wide range of categories, from waxing and permanent makeup to men's and women's haircuts and color services. The experience also serves them well during microdermabrasions and facials, among other skincare treatments.
It's no surprise that the earth-conscious stylists at Willie & Coote Salon use Aveda products. Aveda relies on botanically based ingredients that have as little an impact on the environment as possible. The eco-friendly brand's shampoos, conditioners, and colors stock the salon's shelves, where stylists select the proper ones for haircuts and coloring treatments. With face-framing cuts and accentuating color in place, the staff applies makeup, tints lashes and brows, and performs hair and eyelash extensions.
Q&A with Marshell Dickens, Owner of Hair by Marshell
What inspired you to start this business?
I am passionate about building long-term relationships with my clients by showcasing my hair styling skills, great haircutting abilities, and my knowledge of hair care . . . but mostly I like being independent!
What does your salon look like?
I rent a very cozy suite at Salon By JC with a nice view outside, but it still has a private atmosphere. The . . . decor is slick and uncluttered, yet I have everything I need at my fingertips to do my job. The salon as a whole is very spacious, decorated with beautiful art and filled with comfortable [seating] in the hallways. There is open parking, lots of cool restaurants, bars, and a local grocery store for your convenience!
Light reflects off a couple dozen vinyl records hung on a pink wall. They reflect a shine almost like a harbinger of the shine imparted by RetroChic Salon?s inventive keratin express blow out treatments, which use fragrant ingredients such as vanilla bean. With Keratin Complex smoothing products, the experienced pair of stylists working at the salon makes hair healthy and glossy, like a bodybuilder who?s pushing his car down a racetrack. For styling and coloring hair, the staff exclusively uses Schwarzkopf products.
