Whether undergoing a customized facial or chemical peel, it’s easy to relax at Optimal Med Spa. That’s because the medical aesthetician is also a trained massage therapist who complements each treatment with a few minutes of gentle kneading. Also putting guests at ease are the gentle, laser-based treatments—which remove everything from unwanted hair to excess inches—and the advanced skincare products from Revision and DermaQuest.
Twenty-five equals the number of years the Hair Elegance Nails staff has been at it. That quarter century of skill building helps them render services in a wide range of categories, from waxing and permanent makeup to men's and women's haircuts and color services. The experience also serves them well during microdermabrasions and facials, among other skincare treatments.
Situated in her colorful studio above Barley House, Nevaeh Salon & Spa’s Sarah Lewis always has a comfortable seat ready for her latest client. Clotilde Barnes's passion for holistic healthcare and nutrition has led her around the globe. After graduating from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico, the native of Veracruz, Mexico, went on to train at the Western College for Medical Assistance and the San Francisco School of Massage while becoming a licensed medical aesthetician. Her journey to the U.S. in 2000 drew her deeper into the medical field, affording her the opportunity to work with family doctors, dermatologists, and chiropractors. Barnes has pooled everything that science and ancient traditions have taught her, and has owned her own business since 2008.
Barnes promotes health and well-being with alternative therapies such as reflexology sessions, which balance bodily energy via pressure points in the feet. Organic chemical peels exfoliate skin with gentle enzymes and minerals to diminish fine lines. She also performs photofacials that employ light-emitting diodes, diachronic lamps, or Lite-Brite pins to boost collagen production and combat signs of aging.
Behind the bright pink door of Nevaeh Salon & Spa, Brittany Demny transforms hair with a slate of salon services. In the glow of saffron walls, hardwood floors, and clients' inner beauty, Demny snips strands, adds color, and smooths out kinks alongside her cheerful colleagues.
