All Pets Considered combines a wide selection of pet toys, accessories, and gift items, with a proven commitment to animal welfare. While human customers shop, staff guide dogs past luxury beds, chew toys, and all-natural foods, or deliver them to the salon and spa for a thorough scrubbing. Their catalog of dangling and scratchable playthings charms felines, and their practical wares—including bowls, brushes, and collars—ready homes for frolicking paws. Humans also benefit from souvenirs such as bumper stickers and welcome mats, which bespeak a love of animals as plainly as a proposal to your vet.
The selection is joined by an extensive commitment to animal welfare that still distinguishes the business—a commitment that helped them win the Pet Retailer of the Year award from Pet Product News magazine in 2000. This devotion continually manifests in onsite adoption fairs and showcases for foster cats, including one taking place on July 27, 2013. What's more, employees contribute to some kind of rescue service after a day of leading customers and their furry cohorts through colorful aisles of pet accessories.
Owner Dr. Paula Bullock doesn't want the cost of veterinary care to be the reason people must give up their pets. That's why she opened Affordable Animal Care, a full-service veterinary hospital. There, she and her team work with clients to develop affordable-treatment plans. Treatments include spaying and neutering, as well as medical, dental, and surgical procedures. Vaccinations are also available, with walk-ins welcomed for pets 1 year and older.
Camp Bow Wow’s canine counselors—all rigorously trained in pup health care and behavior—lavish pooches with attention and stimulation while their owners are away at work or on trips. Before being left for daycare or boarding, a dog and owner will first attend a three-hour meet and greet at any time during Camp Bow Wow's normal business hours, during which new recruits can be monitored for their play behavior, sociability, and celebrity likeness. Then, under staffers’ watchful gazes, pups can frolic all day in three spacious indoor-outdoor play areas in which they are grouped by temperament and size to prevent unfair matches of Trivial Pursuit. Dogs staying overnight receive a treat before bedding down in their own spacious cabin, equipped with a fleece blanket and comfortable bed. Feel free to peep at four-legged companions at leisure with live camper cams, which broadcast feeds of Camp Bow Wow's play rooms spliced with breaking news of royal pet weddings.
At Montross Quarter Horses, Inc., instructors John and Laura Montross teach students of all skill levels how to ride starting at the age of four. Backed by vast experience, the duo combines its equestrian expertise during private and semi-private lessons, offered in both English and Western riding styles. Lessons are tailored to individual goals, and emphasize fundamentals, proper horsemanship, and proper grooming techniques. The Montross' facility presents students with a number of different riding areas, including trails and indoor and outdoor arenas for year-round practicing.
A team of talented veterinarians lead the way at Animal Hospital at Brier Creek, where they take care of furry friends using state-of-the-art technology in a warm and loving environment. Owners can tune in to a 24-hour website with cameras trained on their pets to keep an eye on their recovery, and dogs and cats receive free bandanas or catnip with their visits. See the hospital's FAQ page for additional information.
Brier Creek Pet Hotel proprietor Lisa Sarvas is a veterinarian who also breeds and shows dogs. The pet hotel—which offers both daycare and boarding—is an extension of her love for animals.
Daycare charges enjoy several indoor or outdoor play periods, either in groups or one-on-one with staff members. Overnight guests bunk down in private suites with access to a covered outdoor run; upgrades include elevated beds, televisions, and exclusive exercise space. There's also a groomer on staff to make sure dogs look their best for any upcoming dates with fire hydrants.
