Metromix called Brewskeez "a happening place." It’s not hard to see why. The O'Fallon pub broadcasts sports games from nine televisions and two large projectors while bartenders pour drinks. In the kitchen, cooks grill brioche rolls to cradle burgers and load thin-crust pizzas with savory toppings. Patrons can send glossy balls careening across pool tables, listen to live music, and aim darts or sharpened silverware at bull's-eyes. Though Brewskeez's interior is smoke-free, its outdoor patio accommodates smokers.
At DeCarlo's Bar and Grill, chefs take an innovative approach to burger making. Rather than piling toppings on the outside of the burger, they stuff flavorful ingredients—such as pepper jack cheese, bacon, or jalapenos—directly between two quarter-pound patties. These signature burgers ooze juicy fillings and gossip with every bite, and they star on a menu of pub fare also populated by hearty sandwiches, fried appetizers, customized pizzas, and a variety of draft beers and cocktails.
Every Thursday through Saturday night, two pro piano players sit down at Jive and Wail's two baby grand pianos and proceed to bang out Top 40 hits from a plethora of eras, including time that has not yet come to pass, though these future-songs cannot be heard by present-day ears. Audience participation is not only encouraged but demanded by the dueling pianists—who are not above threatening their audience with atonal jazz if no song requests are forthcoming. Once you've made your request, the bar's high-tech sound system makes sure you won't miss it while refreshing your tipple at the full-service bar.
Everything from the pickle spears to the guacamole finds the deep fryer at Kokomos Bar and Grill. The crispy fried appetizers complement a selection of unimpeachable pub food. There's a half-pound burger with sautéed mushrooms and swiss cheese, and another one with bacon and Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce. Also on the menu are cheesesteaks and pizzas for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. For entertainment, guests can toss darts at a dartboard, arcade game, high-definition TV, or occasional live-music act.
To accompany a menu that sates appetites with hearty pub eats, including their popular $0.99 burgers, The Babylon houses more than 20 whistle-wetting draft beers. Patrons may also reserve a party room for free and come in on Saturdays for live musical performances.
