Fitzone for Women’s 14 locations across Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan beckon ladies of all ages and fitness levels to sweat side-by-side during supportive group classes and workouts. Each location hosts 20-minute circuit-training sessions that incorporate Nautilus machines, which increase weight in 1-pound increments, rather than the traditional 10 pounds. Fitness professionals work hand-in-hand with members to design a personalized workout plan, while group classes get bodies in shape with high-energy sessions of Zumba, strength training, kickboxing, and running away from a giant boulder rolling downhill. Fitzone for Women’s specially designed windows simultaneously let in sunlight and block views into studio from the outside, and its locker rooms have private dressing stations for an extra ounce of comfort.
Sonoran Glass School may sound like a Hollywood stuntman school, since students are encouraged to play with glass, flame, and saws. However, their in-depth glass-working classes teach pupils how to create delicate objets d'art under the watchful eye of a host of experienced instructors. Torchworking classes teach pupils how to shape their own paperweights and vases out of molten glass, and facet-cutting courses let students create mosaics depicting abstract designs or themselves making mosaics of abstract designs. Kids' and adult classes offer age-appropriate instruction, and an 10-student class cap for most courses ensures plenty of one-on-one time with the teacher.

A 1,201-seat auditorium that values acoustic excellence as much as visual grandeur, the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center houses ornate wooden accents and intricate wall panels that soar over a sweeping balcony peppered with plush red seats. Ample wheelchair seating and elevators to all levels abound, ensuring audience members seated in the balcony won’t need to rely on the creaky wooden catapults still in use at many theaters.
Fitness guru Lisa Nash, whose body-sculpting expertise has benefited clients from U.S. Marines to local doctors, leads fitness classes that privilege cardiovascular training and weight loss over hulking machines and protein powder. Athletes of all ages can shed pounds, shake the police, and increase heart health in more than a dozen motivating classes ranging from 50-minute cardio-kickboxing bouts to 90-minute total-body workouts. High-intensity cardio interval-training sessions incorporate Lisa’s experience breaking in military recruits and aspiring firefighters, and Gams, Butts & Guts tones and tightens the lower body with high-rep aerobics rather than saran-wrap pants. High-steppers, kickboxers, and ab toners wishing to enroll in Lisa’s classes must supply their own weights and mats.
