The wine connoisseurs at the independently owned Cork & Olive Lake Mary franchise introduce visitors to international wines, most of which originate from small, family-owned vineyards. Ken and Kelly, the owners of Flagler Beachfront Winery, used to run a certified organic vineyard and winery in Ohio. One fateful day, they realized something was missing: the beach. In 2012, they moved to their current location in Flagler Beach and converted the property's trademark "little blue building" into a fully functioning winery.
Here, grapes are gathered from hand selected growers and handcrafted on-site into rich, robust, and fruity wine selections for guests to carry onto the beach—you can enjoy a panoramic vista of the Atlantic as you sip. Guests can fill their glasses or tightly cupped hands with six types of wine from the taps, including cabernet, pinot noir, chardonnay, syrah, red zinfandel, and riesling. The winery also hosts special events such as barrel tastings, wine pairings, and live music on the oceanfront patio.
Starting from humble roots in his farmhouse kitchen, Keel and Curley’s founder, Joe Keel, started his winery in 2003 with just 10 gallons of homemade blueberry wine, made from the leftover crop of that year’s berries. Today, the company has grown to produce more than 20,000 cases of fruit-based ambrosias, including blueberry, blackberry, and seven fusion wines forged from a blend of fresh fruit and classic grape-based red and white varietals. After touring the winery's facilities to learn about the winemaking process, guests may sample vintages crafted from strawberries, key lime, and peaches while perched on tall wooden stools behind the bar area of the tasting room.
