At first glance, Harbour Bar and Fish House exudes the vibe of a private seaside residence, from the wraparound porch to the brick fireplace inside. But the venue shows its true colors as a bustling seafood restaurant when the outdoor bar opens and the kitchen fills with chefs preparing fresh fish, such as grilled Scottish salmon and red grouper, all caught without nets. Sea-blue walls and an airy dining space further evoke the ocean, urging patrons to fashion makeshift peg legs from the natural wood flooring. Diners can engage in friendly competition on the bocce-ball courts and enjoy performances from live musicians Thursday through Sunday.

Cartoon skulls color the ragged wooden sign outside Matador's, creating a rustic, yet playful, atmosphere where cuisine from the Michoacán region treats taste buds to an authentic taste of Mexico. Pulled pork, tilapia, and tofu are just a sample of what's stuffed into the tortillas of 14 types of tacos, which sate south-of-the-border cravings quicker than a deep-fried bolo tie. Combination plates and vegetarian options round out the menu at the restaurant's two locations, both of which offer spacious patio seating. At the newer Glenwood Park location, patrons can relax in a separate bar area as flat-screen TVs glimmer across intoxicating bottles of top-shelf spirits.

Tracy Mitchell's global-minded taqueria has come a long way since 2011, when Atlanta Magazine lauded it as a "singular startup worth championing." Singular only begins to describe this place, which has grown in popularity thanks to outrageously creative tacos such as the We've Got Seoul (Korean pork belly and kimchi) and the Bollywood (samosa filling with curried potatoes).

Notwithstanding a menu that regularly makes jaws drop, Bad Dog is based on a fairly simple concept: fresh, locally sourced ingredients transformed by an eclectic collection of recipes. It's not exactly traditional, but when yucca fries with habanero ketchup and pineapple-plantain salsa are involved, you won't see anybody complaining?including its hometown crowd. In May 2014, the taqueria represented the state of Georgia in Food Network Magazine's "50 Tacos, 50 States". The Travel Channel's Adam Richman also caught the tortilla buzz after paying a recent visit on his new show "Man Finds Food," where he reportedly attained tacos and Zen.
