Just as jogging isn’t only for marathon runners and skydiving isn’t only for superheroes with broken jetpacks, yoga is not just for bendy people, according to Shanti Yoga. First-timers along with daily yogis attend the studio's classes, which include options for all levels, such as gentle Hatha and power Vinyasa. Yoga workshops help students deepen their practice and learn new techniques, and retreats blast practitioners out of their comfort zones for life-changing experiences in tropical locations such as Bali. The studio also sells yoga-inspired Satya Jewelry, glass water bottles by Life Factory, and yoga props and accessories.
The instructors at Bikram Yoga Delta's studio help students boost strength, stamina and flexibility by leading them through Bikram Choudhury's therapeutic 26 asanas and two specialized breathing exercises. Each dedicated teacher believes in the healing benefits of Bikram technique — for instance, Sunshine Zhang found that the technique alleviated her sciatic nerve flare-ups, and director Mak Pahar credits it with his recovery from injuries sustained in hockey games and wrestling matches with his doppelganger. Their pupils practice the soothing and strengthening postures amid a studio decorated with wall murals of rushing waterfalls, stylish black-leather furniture, stone-tiled shower rooms, and heated yoga rooms lined with mirrors.
Oxygen Hot Yoga & Fitness's owners equip each of their classrooms with infrared heaters, but it's the teacher's blending of workout styles that turns each class into a fitness melting pot. While infrared rays boost body heat to summon productive sweats, trainers strengthen cores and improve flexibility with a combination of yoga and Pilates. They don't just run the same sequence or routine in every class, either. They offer modifications and progressions on all exercises so that routines evolve as students progress, a technique which prevents people from getting bored and falling asleep mid-downward dog.
At each of Oxygen Yoga & Fitness? locations, trained fitness instructors guide students through a seven-day schedule packed with yoga, boot camp, meditation, and TRX suspension training classes. The modern studios come equipped with infrared heated yoga rooms where students strengthen muscles during yoga poses as the specialized light aims to improve their skin tone and erase their cellulite. During TRX suspension training sessions, exercisers are suspended in the air by belts attached to the ceiling and use their own body weight to fight gravity. The classes are designed for all fitness levels and aim to build long, lean muscles and give guests a place to practice their levitation skills. The studio also schedules kids' yoga sessions designed to increase children?s confidence and provide full-body workouts.
