Mean Green CrossFit director Taylor Compton draws on her 13 years of experience as a competitive gymnast to help exercisers achieve the same physical condition that got her into National Physique Committee shows. After becoming enamored with CrossFit's challenging daily workouts and supportive community, she began taking exercisers of all skill levels under her wing, pushing them to their limits with CrossFit’s individually tailored, high-intensity workouts. Unlike gaudy gyms, Mean Green doesn’t have steam rooms, wall-length mirrors, or butlers that will pedal stationary bicycles for you while you drink a frappuccino. Instead, visitors walk into a no-frills-necessary setting where athletes swing on gymnastic rings, hoist barbells, and pummel punching bags.
The personal trainers that head BodyByU Fitness know what it's like to struggle with health and fitness. They've come a long way since they first started exercising, but they're also still striving to reach their own fitness goals. That's why they're the ideal buddy to accompany an exerciser on his or her journey to lose weight or bulk up.
Because they know how important accountability is when it comes to exercise, they keep in closer touch with clients than a mom who just learned how to text. By combining in-person boot camps with meal planning, personal training, and virtual boot camps (which only require an Internet connection), they help clients plow toward fit, healthy bodies.

Matt Alva grew up in the Rocky Mountains, hiking, climbing, and pursuing other outdoor adventure sports. When life took him away from the peaks of his hometown, he turned to triathlons to fulfill his desire for intense, exciting athletics. He became invested in the triathlon community, and wanted to give back to it by helping others improve their performance. So he earned a certification as a healthcare executive, and began coaching aspiring triathletes through Tri-Fit Coaching.
To lead athletes to success, Matt offers both performance testing and on-going training, building his clients' regimens using scientific methods. He first tests their efficiency of oxygen consumption with VO2 Max testing and their resting metabolic rate. Based on this data, he creates target numbers for clients to hit during their workouts, such as exercise durations and heart rates. This method helps to best ensure rapid, effective improvement in their athletic ability, but may not effect the amount of sweating experienced during a surprise math test.
Camp Gladiator founder Ally Davidson’s childhood obsession with the outdoors and sports led her to pursue a degree in exercise physiology. After her 2008 win on the TV show American Gladiators, Ally decided to share her love of fitness with the world at large. Camp Gladiator reflects Ally's passion for fitness in its mission, which espouses their desire "to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible." During Camp Gladiator Total Transformation, participants lose weight and gain energy in a friendly, positive environment. Over four-weeks, trainers focus on accountability, competition, motivation, and fun at multiple locations. Results are tracked during fitness assessments, body composition tests, and a fitness calendar, while nutrition counseling helps to maximize those results. Click here to view before and after images.
Davidson also leads boot camps in 13 U.S. cities, with each hosting multiple training locales. The upbeat staff of certified trainers lead patrons of all ages and fitness levels through four-week outdoor boot camps, earning Camp Gladiator a Hot Spot title from Women's Health magazine's Fitness Awards in 2013, Best Boot Camp from Rare magazine in 2010, Best of Big D 2010–2013 from D magazine, and Best Outdoor Boot Camp 2012 from Austin Fit magazine.
