  • The Office - Colfax
Pool. Karaoke. Poker. Live music. While The Office regularly hosts events like these, they're always secondary to the sports bar's twin passions: sports and beer. The latest games play on a variety of TVs, including one 120-inch viewing screen, and the bar always has more than 24 craft beers on tap, including Dubhe hemp beer, as well as a wide selection of martinis and everything from mussels and shepherd's pie to cheeseburgers and wings to munch on. What's more, it's a dog-friendly spot with two large dog-friendly patios, which means that owners and canines can watch soccer?or "dalmatian ball," as dogs call it?together.

When it finally settled in to the John Hand Theatre, it celebrated with a well-received production of 12 Angry Men. But their nomadic beginnings informed an aesthetic that ranged well beyond dramas about men and anger. Farces, romances, murder mysteries, and musicals fill out their annual programs, which run all year long.

  • Boulder Chamber Orchestra
By the time he returned to Denver and noticed a gap in the cultural landscape, Music Director of Boulder Chamber Orchestra Bahman Saless had already lived several lives. Beginning a dual career path in England, he first focused his studies mainly on physics, eventually moving to the US and working as a research scientist for NASA. But unlike everything in the universe except Earth, his passion for music couldn't be ignored. He soon moved out to LA, where he began composing music for film trailers and nature documentaries, then returned to Colorado to light up the Boulder Chamber Orchestra with his fire and determination.
