The exercise facilities at FitCon Fitness and Massage Therapy are designed for optimal strength and conditioning. The team has set up four lifting stations stacked with bars, bumper plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, and plyometric boxes. Team members train clients' cardiovascular systems through circuit training, jumping rope, running, sled work, and rowing. These exercises are all part of the team's signature FitCon plan, which is designed to produce optimal strength, power, and endurance. Instructors lead small-group classes each week, as well as personal training and private martial-arts training. In the therapy center, massage therapists nurse tired bodies back to health with a variety of sports, recovery, and neuromuscular massage.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Our circuit method, the variation of exercises, and the group component all help our clients stay motivated. They feel accountable to not only themselves but also to the group. Their success is our success.

When and how did you first develop a passion for fitness?
When I played division-one ice hockey. I worked with amazing trainers before becoming a personal trainer. My passion was confirmed when I helped my first client go from 230 pounds to 140 pounds in 75 sessions.

She then founded the Milford chapter of Fit Body Boot Camp, now known as 30MinFitness, where she draws from her extensive training and softball-coaching experience to lead her students towards healthier lifestyles through the boot camp’s dynamic workouts and comprehensive meal plans. Trainers at 30MinFitness lead group workouts that integrate cardio with resistance training, strength training, and light alligator wrestling. They design the workouts to be time efficient and varied, avoiding workout plateaus that may leave clients uninspired. In addition to motivating clients to work their bodies, trainers also empower them with healthy eating guidelines.
