Snap Fitness's around-the-clock gyms enable members to work on their physical well-being with a cornucopia of fitness equipment. With 24-hour access, members don't have to let The Man tell them when to help themselves to Snap's strength and cardio equipment, which features built-in TVs and other media diversions. For those who exercise during conventional hours, Snap's friendly, unintimidating atmosphere welcomes patrons of all ability levels, unlike schoolyard dodge-ball squads. Members also enjoy nationwide access to all Snap Fitness locations, ideal for working out while traveling. For a dose of custom advice, patrons can seek out a personal-training session with a certified coach, who helps them assess and address their fitness goals. Clients reap the benefit of individual attention as a personal trainer helps them tackle weight loss, prepare for an arm-wrestling competition, or unveil the mysteries of arcane cable-weight machines.
The exercise facilities at FitCon Fitness and Massage Therapy are designed for optimal strength and conditioning. The team has set up four lifting stations stacked with bars, bumper plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, and plyometric boxes. Team members train clients' cardiovascular systems through circuit training, jumping rope, running, sled work, and rowing. These exercises are all part of the team's signature FitCon plan, which is designed to produce optimal strength, power, and endurance. Instructors lead small-group classes each week, as well as personal training and private martial-arts training. In the therapy center, massage therapists nurse tired bodies back to health with a variety of sports, recovery, and neuromuscular massage.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Our circuit method, the variation of exercises, and the group component all help our clients stay motivated. They feel accountable to not only themselves but also to the group. Their success is our success.
When and how did you first develop a passion for fitness?
When I played division-one ice hockey. I worked with amazing trainers before becoming a personal trainer. My passion was confirmed when I helped my first client go from 230 pounds to 140 pounds in 75 sessions.
Between 10 locations, The Edge Fitness Clubs' trainers offer more than 1,000 group fitness classes every week. They lead spinning, Zumba, and yoga classes alongside kickboxing sessions and intense interval strength training. The motivating coaches conduct every class in a private studio, save for those that require them to use the strength-training or cardio equipment that occupies the main floor.?
While the primary purpose of each fitness club is to get people in shape, the staff also supply a range of other amenities. Conveniently, some of those features make it easier to get fit. For example, the gyms offer babysitting complete with structured educational activities for kids. Also, members are invited to bring a friend for free every Friday to sample classes, work up a sweat, and practice their locker-room banter. And a number of onsite tanning beds provide an opportunity for members to bronze their newly sculpted bods.
Priscilla McCall had always had a knack for athletics, but it wasn?t until she left her career in the technology industry that she could pursue her dream of becoming a certified personal trainer. She then founded the Milford chapter of Fit Body Boot Camp, now known as 30MinFitness, where she draws from her extensive training and softball-coaching experience to lead her students towards healthier lifestyles through the boot camp?s dynamic workouts and comprehensive meal plans. Trainers at 30MinFitness lead group workouts that integrate cardio with bodyweight training, core strengthening, and overall toning. They design the workouts to be time efficient and varied, avoiding workout plateaus that may leave clients uninspired. In addition to motivating clients to work their bodies, trainers also empower them with healthy eating guidelines.
