Signature Service: Massage Established: 2010 Reservations/Appointments: Required Handicap Accessible: Yes Staff Size: 2?10 people Parking: Parking lot Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Pro Tip: We are one block west of Marine View Drive at 220th Q&A with Leanne D. Kuhlman, Owner, Lmp, Rmt Besides making clients happy, what do you like most about your job? I meet a wide variety of wonderful people who come in looking forward to their treatment and who leave with relief on their faces. There is no better occupation in the world than bringing peace and relaxation to those who seek it. What is one fun, unusual fact about your business? We have a small store with all kinds of fun, eclectic items that are hand-picked for the only reason that they suit our fancy at the moment. We also provide lotions, oils, soaps, and items related to massage for purchase. What's the most common beauty mistake you see people make? What would you recommend they do instead? Many people work at their computer desks all day and forget to get up and stretch. I would estimate that most of the people who come in have very hunched up shoulders and necks because of the non-ergonomic positions they maintain at a desk during the workday. Remember to get up every 45 minutes to hour and stretch. Have a drink of water, and walk around if you can. It only takes 3 minutes and will help unscrunch you. Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover? We offer many wellness therapies and we encourage our valued clients to try something new. Come in and relax, enjoy your time with us, and learn about other healing therapies besides massage, such as Reiki. It could open a whole other window of wellness for you.

Pauline of Pauline's Nail Spa doesn't rest on her laurels. It's not enough that she owns her own nail salon outfitted with tasteful mahogany-toned walls and plush pedicure thrones, she also designs her own nail services. Pauline's proprietary silk-wrap nail process offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional faux nails with 100% China silk and fiberglass resin that leave clients with long, sturdy, glossy nails. Clients can also opt for traditional, Shellac, spa, and organic mani-pedis, or they can settle into cushioned pedicure chairs that end in warm footbaths. In a separate room, aestheticians deliver results-focused, European-style facials that include deep cleanings, conditioning steams, and light massages to raise the spirits and bring the skin to a radiance that could earn its own office on the color wheel.

Paradise Salon's staff expertly renders the services necessary to bolster their clients' looks. Hair treatments such as Brazilian blowouts and deep conditioning keep strands smooth and strong enough to twirl around fingers or flip over shoulders. Nail services groom hands and feet—vixen reds light up fingers like glow sticks light up a rave in a cave. The technicians can also use a Japanese solution to keep lashes curled to the ideal level, enabling flirtatious winks for up to six weeks.

When the staffers at Desert Sun Tanning Salons say they can fix your problems with a cocktail, they’re not talking about libations. Instead, they’re referring to a method that combines two types of bronzing styles. After lying in a traditional sunbed, patrons pop into an automatic spray-tanning booth. The idea is that the UV rays in the bed trigger melanin production and open the pores so that the spray tan goes on darker and lasts longer. Of course, customers can indulge in either of these options separately, choosing from a fleet of machinery that includes Mystic Tan and VersaSpa sunless tanning booths and silver-, gold-, and platinum-level sunbeds. They can also undergo a session that doesn’t change the skin’s tone, but, rather, tones it. Red-light therapy drenches the skin in fluorescent light that boosts collagen production in order to firm skin, tighten muscles, and transform sagging bloomers into boxer briefs. Regular salon visitors can consider purchasing a membership, which entitles them to tanning-bed upgrades and discounts on skincare products.
