The stylists at Alba Spa & Salon talk clients through every step of the haircare process, from an initial consultation to the cut itself to tips for successful at-home styling. This devotion to clients extends throughout the whole staff at the salon and spa. Aside from traditional services such as color treatments, waxing, and massages, the staff members will also consult with clients on services that, like Wagner?s Ring Cycle to a prom DJ, aren?t included in their standard lineup. These services could range from offbeat color choices and application techniques to unusual event hairstyling, limited only by the client and stylist's collective imagination.
As co-owners of Trend Studios Orlando, Matthew Bengston and Anthony Cortes have cultivated a business that reflects their own areas of expertise. Matthew brings his skills as a stylist to the hair salon, where he and his team cut men’s and women’s hair, add highlights, and lengthen locks with extensions. For his part, Anthony draws on his talents as a teeth-whitening and airbrush-tanning specialist to oversee those branches of the studio. Both Matthew and Anthony go out of their way to ensure a comfortable experience for clients: Anthony’s airbrush tans, for example, employ an Evolv. Sidekick tanning system that warms up its tanning solution before gently misting skin. For the spa services in which they do not specialize, Matthew and Anthony employ a knowledgeable staff that performs massages, waxing treatments, and a cappella renditions of the spa’s relaxing soundtrack.
Epic Skin Care owner Cymone Charles recognizes that everyone’s skin is different, varying in color, type, texture, and tone. That's why she uses botanical-based Bioelements products to create a diverse array of facials. The women’s signature facial softens and smoothes the skin with a high-frequency treatment and the back treatment clears up the skin on the shoulders so that clients can wear backless pajamas to work with confidence. There's even a men’s signature facial that banishes breakouts and ingrown hairs with a deep pore cleansing. Epic Skin Care’s other spa services are equally adaptable: Aestheticians wax 20 distinct face and body areas on both men and women, and nail specialists perform manicures and pedicures that can be enhanced with aromatherapy soaks and coconut-mango foot and leg massages.
The Spa's focus on customer satisfaction and relaxation has gained the staff recognition from the press, including a nod in Orlando Weekly's Best of Orlando 2011 list. Its vast menu of spa services runs a soothing gamut from traditional western massage to Dermalogica skincare treatments, as well as extravagant spa packages designed for men and women.
About once a month, or whenever the original cast of Footloose shows up, The Spa cranks up the tunes and opens up its hardwood floors for dancing during happy-hour spa parties. The themed shindigs pair lavish massages or facials with a nightclub ambiance of cocktails and activities such as gambling tables or oxygen bars.
Chocolate Salon & Spa's coiffure clippers reinvent human plumage with custom haircuts, intensive conditioning treatments, and vibrant feather extensions. Spiff up follicles with a set of two multichromatic feather hair extensions available in three lengths. Expertly woven into tresses in fewer than 20 minutes by the salon’s deft stylists, feathers imbue hair with the flair necessary to wow onlookers at weddings or trick bouncers at peacock-only night clubs. Clients can sport the reusable wisps for up to six weeks, safely flat-ironing or curling them for added texture. Or don an alter ego during the salon’s three-part haircut. After infusing hair with strand-softening conditioner, stylists prune split ends, flyaways, and lonely creeper vines with precision snips. A blowdry follows, manipulating manes into wash-and-wear coifs.
Keliann Jimenez has been in the spotlight since she was 13 years old. She won her first beauty pageant in 2008 and would later add six more titles to her name. Commercials and photo shoots followed, as did visits to exotic locations around the world. Even after all of those experiences, she still felt something was missing. Inspired to contribute more to the world, she hit the books to earn a business degree.
Combining her education with her experience in the beauty industry, she founded Studio By Keliann to help others find expression through make-up and hair design. She and her team of studio artists beautify clients at stations furnished with ornate mirrors and simple black chairs. Stylists augment locks with cuts, color treatments, and extension services, and makeup artists create timeless looks and sometimes dabble in special-effects makeup for everything from zombie-themed parties to dates with actual zombies.
