A royal-blue staircase leads patrons into Blissful Health Center Inc. Sharon M. Vogel, NCTMB, LMT –with more than 24 years of waxing experience– offers a variety of rejuvenating spa services including waxing, facials, and naturopathic and oriental medicines.
Though it’s been open fewer than three years, Glimmer Salon has already expanded four times—a testament to its rapidly growing clientele and penchant for reinvention. Throughout the sprawling, open space, a team of amiable mane masters snips, colors, and styles strands to each client's specifications. The staff also performs services such as smoothing treatments, facial waxing, and massages. Warm earth tones blanket the walls and complement the sleek hardwood floors, and high-quality hair products line the glass shelves, plotting to swan dive into the coiffures of clients passing by.
The staff and state-certified massage therapists at Heavenly Massage have left no stone unturned when it comes to their clients’ relaxation. At each Heavenly Massage location, the music, lighting, and decor all serve the same goal of enhancing peace of mind. Though massages—ranging from hot stone to lymphatic drainage—are the signature service, the staff also offers nailcare, skincare, waxing, and body treatments.
Within SoderWorld Healing Arts Center’s A-frame log cabin, wellness professionals nurture body, mind, and spirit. Massage therapists tucked inside the 5,500-square-foot lodge or its detached gazebo heal muscle aches as patrons doze to the distant symphony of an outdoor waterfall. Therapists practice traditional, uncommon, and Asian bodywork treatments, incorporating tools such as heated lava shells and stones. Meanwhile, yoga instructors lead pose sequences and edify students in the art of teaching. A 2.5-acre walking path winds around the facility, delivering patrons to a meditation garden where they can search for inner peace or metal scraps.
For more than 20 years, Dr. George Gauthier has practiced holistic medicine and rehabilitative healing. But his experience hasn’t diminished his humility or approachability; he prefers that his patients call him "Dr. George" or, more simply, “Doc.” First intrigued by natural health and drug-free medicine as a student, Dr. George has since translated this to his work as a licensed acupuncturist and chiropractic physician. He also provides massage therapy, nutritional counseling, and ear candling, an ancient cleansing technique that improves hearing, earaches and headaches, as well as a propensity to identify with soy candles.
