Michelle Delbonifro began her career in 1996, when she received certification as a massage therapist and opened Main Line Therapeutic Massage and Spa. She didn’t stop there. After hypnosis helped her quit smoking—which is the most satisfying job to quit—she went on to study with the American Guild of Hypnotists, becoming certified in 2005. By 2006, she added the credential of licensed aesthetician to her CV and began administering facials, chemical peels, and waxing at her salon.
Today, Michelle helms Main Line alongside staff members Sue and Jessica. The trio doles out services ranging from relaxing therapeutic and organic stress relief massages to cellulite and toning treatments. They brighten and smooth complexions with crystal- or diamond-tipped microdermabrasion tools, and administer anti-aging facials to combat fine lines and wrinkles or gentlemen’s facials make even the roughest of men look gentle. Beyond skin treatments and bodywork, Michelle continues her work as a hypnotist by helping clients shatter all sorts of habits, including smoking and insomnia.
The team renders these myriad treatments amid the sound waves of relaxing music, the scents of calming aromas drifting through the room, antiques, stained glass, and a fireplace.
Deva Hair Studio is chock-full of talented stylists and designer haircare products—but that’s not all. In addition to custom cuts and Redken color treatments, the studio facilitates true head-to-toe makeovers thanks to the gowns and tops available in its formalwear boutique. There, visitors can find a sparkling special-occasion dress to match the glimmer of their new face-flattering highlights; or they can peruse walls decorated with work by local artists to find a piece that will perfectly fit over the toaster-size hole in their living-room wall.
For over 60 years, The Mane Attraction has helped to beautify the locks of Lansdowne residents. Since 1949, four sets of owners have welcomed guests, with the current owners and their team of stylists taking up residence in 2001. Just as the style of coiffures has evolved over the years, so too has the salon’s list of services–the roster now includes Keratin treatments.
Guests seeking temporary refuge at Salon Bella Gente may feel as though they're lounging in the comforts of a well-appointed home, where upholstered chairs punctuate hallways lit by tabletop lamps and flickering candles. At the nail stations, large paper lanterns illume cushioned pedicure chairs anchored by metallic tubs. Nearby, stylists bustle behind the Color Bar, filling real martini glasses with Wella color cocktails as clients look on from cushy chairs. Down the hall, private spa rooms cloaked with chocolate-colored curtains shut out exterior anxieties and freeloading biological clocks as massage therapists warm up oils and aestheticians blend glycolic peels in preparation for pampering sessions.
Massages, body scrubs, and facials dominate the services at The Day Spa at Skin Deep. Inside, beauty technicians put time into helping their clients get into a relaxed state before they get started improving complexions and soothing muscles. On top of their expertise in body care, staff members bring their confidence and welcoming attitudes to each service, making the spa feel comfortable for both frequent spagoers and those who have only previously gotten facials from a friend's cousin's spouse's brother.
