PGA instructor Paul Newman's resumé includes positions as president of the Southeast Chapter of the Southern Ohio PGA of America and President's Council member of the PGA. Elton Sargent, the outfit's club-fitting and sword-whittling specialist, has worked directly with club manufacturers and brands such as Mizuno, and has taught more than 6,000 lessons. The wireless system simultaneously analyzes posture, swing plane, clubface position, and favorite flavor of golf ball, communicating the results through data that are interpreted by an experienced golf instructor. Performance Golf Academies of America also utilizes The Optimal Motion Instructor (TOMI) putting-training system, which assesses putts from backstroke to follow-through and postputt pirouette.
The nonprofit New Flyers Association empowers student aviators to improve their soaring skills under the tutelage of certified flight instructors. Whether taking off for the first time on an introductory flight or logging hours in pursuit of a Sport Pilot license, pupils experience the freedom of winged travel aboard such flying machines as a Flight Design CTLS or Piper Cherokee, depending on availability. The association makes its nest in hangar A-10 at The Ohio State University’s Don Scott Airport, a general aviation airport that allows students to learn fundamentals in a professional environment that's safer than jumping from the top bunk bed.
In addition to the flight training offered to academic students, The Ohio State University Flight Training Clinic offers flight training services to the general public. FTC students use the same aircraft as the academic students and have the option to follow the same training outline as the academic students.
