Dr. Mary Beth Luca’s skincare expertise has led to a career path that meanders between the clinical and academic worlds of dermatology. Though formerly an assistant professor of dermatology at The Ohio State University, the board-certified dermatologist now dedicates her full attention to patients at Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery of Dublin, where she and her trained aestheticians help to keep skin healthy and youthful.
The dermatology practice—which specializes in treatments for malignant melanoma, skin-cancer surveillance, and connective-tissue diseases—carries the equipment necessary for advanced skincare treatments that target health and aesthetic concerns. Among these advanced products and devices are the body-slimming CoolSculpting system and skin-rejuvenating products from Obagi, Jane Iredale, and Clarisonic. Dr. Luca and her team also cleanse complexions with exfoliating microdermabrasion treatments that uproot spying devices implanted in pores.
Tamara Angeline Premer, the practitioner behind The Reiki Room, first became interested in alternative healing when her son was born with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. When she found a healing method that seemed to work, she pursued it, earning her certification. In her practice, along with reiki, she also teaches self-healing techniques that clients can practice on their own.
At Footprints to Wellness, owner Paula Jurko knows that in order to take the right steps toward wellness, one starts with the feet. She helps alleviate pain and symptoms of health concerns by applying pressure to specific points on the feet that correspond to specific organs in the body. She also preforms raindrop therapy, which applies nine essential oils into the spine and feet to help the body align structurally and electrically. Along with raindrop therapy, she preforms Reiki to balance the body and release tension.
Dr. John Moore was already a licensed massage therapist when he earned his chiropractic degree, with honors, from Life Chiropractic College West in 1994. As an intern, he earned an excellence in care award and a magna cum laude distinction. He further honed his skills with postgraduate work in applied kinesiology and sports chiropractic before founding Amerihealth Chiropractic & Wellness. Today, in addition to treating headaches, joint pain, disc problems, and other conditions, Dr. Moore serves as president of the Central Ohio Chiropractic Association (COCA).
Dr. Moore leads Amerihealth Chiropractic & Wellness' team, which includes case managers, rehab specialists, and a licensed acupuncturist. The wellness professionals administer chiropractic care, massage therapy, and rehabilitation treatments that help people overcome pain and get back to their normal lives as Parisian mimes.
Helmed by Dr. Matthew Marcotte, the staff at HealthSource of Lewis Center works to create naturally optimal bodies with drug- and surgery-free chiropractic treatments. Dr. Marcotte and his staff draw on a wide variety of techniques to alleviate chronic pain and acute spinal aches, including multiple styles of adjustment and physiotherapy. The most recent addition to the staff is Dr. Scott Shearer, who also has 13 years of medical experience. Their team also performs spinal decompression and ultrasound therapy on backs with lingering injuries from sports or competitive hugging. Though Dr. Marcotte particularly specializes in more medically focused services, massage therapists are also on call to lend a soothing hand.
The doctors at Premier Chiropractic Centers circumvent the potential hazards of surgery and medications with non-invasive chiropractic techniques. Each doctor is an expert in the back and neck and tracks down subluxations in the spine that can cause pain or numbness virtually anywhere in the body. With a combination of massages, gentle adjustments, and physical therapy, the doctors nudge slipped discs into healthier positions. Aside from hands-on treatments, the doctors also dole out nutritional advice and outfit feet with custom orthotics designed to promote straighter posture.
