Along the westernmost edge of Lake Murray State Park lies Lake Murray Golf Course, an aesthetically pleasing golf course that stretches for 6,327 yards and incorporates features of the rugged landscape. The course?s fairways form tunnels through forests of ancient oak trees, leading players past a natural waterfall and, on the 10th hole, a fountain in play that shoots water skyward. After a round, players can regroup on the outdoor patio of the stone-and-wood clubhouse, where they?ll be able to shout post-round handshake critiques to other groups as they come in from the 18th green. Since 1978, players have dodged trees and chased flagsticks across the 6,602 yards that make up the 18-hole championship course at The Trails Golf Club. With just two par 5s total and two par 3s longer than 200 yards, birdie opportunities are scarce, but the course often yields to a smart strategy and threats to pour salt in a divot. Three sets of tees make the course enjoyable for all players, ranging from weekend warriors up to the extremely skilled entrants in both the Men’s and Women’s State Amateur tournaments held at the course. Instruction from PGA and LPGA professionals is also available to help any player strive for champion status. Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par-70 course * Total length of 6,602 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 72 from the back tees * Course slope of 125 from the back tees * Three sets of tees per hole * Scorecard

Designed by esteemed fairway artist P.B. Dye, Crimson Creek Golf Club's 18-hole course summons golfers with 6,992 yards of well-groomed greenery. Constantly primped by a cavalry of lawnmowers and displaced hairstylists, the course sports a high-quality grass to help putts smoothly hold their line. A segment of the scenic course runs in a wide horseshoe pattern around the north end of Lake El Reno, which?along with a series of ponds that come into play throughout the round?compensates for the layout's scarce population of trees by gobbling up errant shots. Before taking to the first tee, golfers can take a few practice cuts at the club's driving range, check out the pro shop to load up on balls, or visit the Hook-N-Slice Restaurant for a bite to eat or a fork to use as a makeshift divot tool.

The 18-hole course at Willow Creek Golf & Country Club stretches across 6,450 yards, bending around lakes and intersecting canals as it tunnels through a dense forest. Players must avoid sending golf balls into a shallow grave twice on the 15th hole, as tee shots must carry water to reach the fairway and approach shots must do the same to reach the green. On the par 37 back nine, three relatively short par 5s present birdie opportunities, with the 17th hole eminently reachable in two. After rounds, players can head to one of the course’s culinary establishments—The Grill, The Dining Room, or the Fireside Room—to satisfy appetites and the need to brag about having the highest score. Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 72 course * Total length of 6,450 yards from the back tees * Course rating of 71.2 from the back tees * Course slope of 126 from the back tees * Three sets of tees per hole
