A quaint teashop with a Scottish flare, Moffat's Cup of Tea at first seems as if it would be more at home in the Highlands than basking under Florida’s perennial sunshine. With its bright-green walls and purple trim, however, the shop has adapted well to its tropical surroundings. The vibrant decor lifts guests’ spirits as they sit down for afternoon tea, which is often accompanied by freshly prepared sandwiches, pastries, and fruit. Steam rises over tables draped in lace as the staff pours selections from more than 35 varieties of tea into cups of English china, each delicately painted with a stamp to verify its dual-citizenship. After taking tea, guests can peruse the gift room's selection of teas, pots, and other fine wares.
Café Kiln offers a variety of ways to cultivate creativity. Paint and glaze a blank piece of pottery, fuse glass, tile your own mosaic, or nurse a tender hunk of clay into form. The all-inclusive art emporium doesn't charge a studio fee, and all supplies (glaze, tools, instruction, paints) are included. Start by selecting your piece of pottery or mosaic shape. Consult stencils and stamps for design direction if you're stumped on the design—with more than 100 colors to choose from, Café Kiln rivals the Crayola Big Box with its wardrobe of hues. Mosaic creations will be ready for you to take home that day. Allow a week for pottery pieces to be fired and glazed.
On weekdays at Jack's Joint, happy hour stretches from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m., karaoke, live bands, or standup comedians take the stage in the evening. Cooks prepare burgers, flatbreads, caesar wraps, cuban sandwiches, and other hearty dishes to pair with cocktails and beer.
Every day from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., the culinary artisans at Zapata's Café build sandwiches, fire flatbreads, and blend fresh smoothies using vibrant, fresh ingredients. The bright space comes alive at lunch time, when friends gather around rustic wooden tables before digging into berry-spinach salads or double-palming hearty pork burritos. To help diners wake up right each day, chefs also put together custom sandwiches and breakfast burritos stocked with veggies and eggs with inspirational messages written in salsa on the side.
At @Café, cappuccinos, café cubanos, and other classic, steamy sips made with Italian-imported Lavazza beans accompany European-style sandwiches and decadently topped dessert vaffles. Nosh tosts or croissants loaded with sweet or salty stuffing—Nutella or peanut butter fill sweet sandwiches, and ham, cheese, and salami can be mixed, matched, or monster mashed inside salty bites. A euro-style dessert vaffle, which differs from a regular waffle only by a single chromosome, comes crowned with a single topping. Pairs linger to surf freely flowing WiFi in @Café's spacious interior, lit by bright orange accent walls in the daytime and a blue neon glow during after-dark hours.
