Dunedin Stirling Links' 18 par 3 holes sprawl across 27 acres of Scottish links-style fairways. Whereas a typical links course has few trees, this one is lined with pines and palms, blocking the wind from knocking shots off course and blowing up kilts. The course is short overall—its longest hole is just 163 yards—welcoming novice golfers and giving experienced players a chance to hone their short games. What the course lacks in length, it makes up for in challenging shots—the 10th, 17th, and 18th tee shots must each clear water hazards. Golfers can work toward improving their personal best at the practice facility, complete with a lighted driving range for evening repetitions and a 4,000-square-foot putting green. Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 54 course * Total length of 2,264 yards from the back tees * Two sets of tees per hole * Scorecard
The specialists at The Path specialize in breathing new life into old things. That goes for restoring vintage cycles, but also for furnishing their striking, lodge-like shop, clad wall-to-wall in pieces of wood. To get the look, the team repurposed wine crates as shelving units and an old wooden stage floor as wall paneling.
BMX parts and accessories hang from the knotty wall fixtures, along with complete new cycles—many from hard-to-find brands, and all including free basic tune-ups for life. Behind the counter, the staff operates a full-service repair center, performing custom bike builds and complete restorations. While waiting for a tune-up or price check, guests can browse the collection of vintage cycles or compare triathlon times with the shop dog, Bandit.
Florida Firearms Training teams up with four gun ranges spread across the Tampa, Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale areas.
Depending on the course taken, the staff can rent handguns, shotguns, or rifles.
Florida Firearms Training's state-, NRA-, and military-certified instructors abide by the philosophy that with ownership of firearms comes great responsibility. With this in mind, they cover safe gun handling and loading in tactical and defensive courses for pistols, shotguns, rifles, and specialty weapons.
Chris Sutton’s vast knowledge of self-defense and fitness stems from his extensive martial arts training, as well as a law enforcement career that pitted him against ruthless criminals. At two locations, Chris and his fellow instructors teach students how to combat both attackers and stale fitness routines, including with C.O.B.R.A., a 10-week reality self-defense course designed by Chris. They also offer classes in kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and after-school karate for kids.
Mac's Tavern may be far nicer than Paddy's Pub from It?s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but they do have one thing in common?Mac's is owned by?Rob and Kaitlin McElhenney, who play Mac and Dee Reynolds on the show, along with a small group of their friends.
The building's house-like fa?ade has long been an Old City fixture. In the 1700s, it was the Skinner?s Dry Goods Store and served such famed customers as Benjamin Franklin, even though it refused to accept payment in the form of bills with his face on them. These days, more than 17 draft beers rotate through the taps behind the stained wood bar and a jukebox sets the background score.
Though the tavern itself is historic, Mac's dedicates itself to modernity, as evidenced by a seasonal menu that might list a roasted beet salad in a balsamic-caramel gastrique or buffalo chicken cheesesteak, a twist on the hometown staple. And every Sunday, the brunch burger arrogantly bestrides mealtimes with its topper of smoked bacon, a fried egg, and a seven-cheese sauce.
