For Doctor of Chiropractic Lucas Kruse, chiropractic care is a family tradition. He's a second-generation chiropractor and is proud to be one of five Kruse family members delivering chiropractic care throughout the United States. After serving for eight years as an enlisted Navy hospital corpsman during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Kruse attended New York Chiropractic College and completed additional training for pediatric patients. Today, family continues to play a vital role at Kruse Chiropractic, as patients often spot Dr. Kruse's wife, Julie helping at the front desk, assisting with patient care or reminding one of their four children that teddy bears don't benefit from time on the intersegmental traction device. Though his time in the military is behind him, Dr. Kruse remains passionate about getting veterans the care they need. As a member of the American Legion, Purple Heart Association, and the veterans committee of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association, he is working to add chiropractic options to the North Carolina Veterans Affairs hospital system. An avid golfer in his spare time, Dr. Kruse is also certified in the treatment of golf-related injuries and performance enhancement, and can perform a golf-swing analysis to determine areas of restriction, weakness, or imbalance.
At Renewal Body Contouring, Dr. Jason Miller works to banish both cellulite and excess fat with an arsenal of advanced, FDA-approved technology. With Smartlipo TriPlex technology, the doctor can effectively diminish fat or even sculpt tissue into chiseled-looking muscles during a procedure that requires only local anesthesia. Unlike traditional liposuction, the Smartlipo system requires only a small incision and liquefies, rather than tears apart, fat tissues, resulting in less downtime and fewer complications. Similarly, the minimally invasive Cellulaze treatment requires just a small incision to sneak a hollow tube beneath the skin and transmit thermal energy, which can help smooth dimpled areas of skin. Patients can also turn to one of the office’s noninvasive procedures for incision-free slimming. CoolSculpting, for instance, freezes and eliminates fat without the use of scalpels or suction, and SmoothShapes cellulite treatments harness the powers of both laser light and relaxing massage.
At Premier Aesthetics, a board-certified physician personally performs each and every procedure. Dr. Melanie Lutz hasn't yet located the Fountain of Youth, but she's found a few things that make that search all but obsolete. At the top of her treatment menu is SMARTLipo, an FDA-approved procedure that uses lasers to trim down waists and reduce the risk of high cholesterol, hypertension, and diabetes. Dr. Lutz also avoids surgery when it comes to tightening skin, opting for an Ultherapy method that favors ultrasound waves to safely lift, tighten, and tone skin on the brow, face, chin, and neck.
Displayed on the screen of a 52-inch flat-screen TV, a baby sucks her thumb as her parents watch adoringly. Her due date, however, is months away. A couple decades ago, this technology would have been the province of science fiction, but today ultrasound machines routinely collect 3-D images and 4-D videos. At My Womb with a View, Dr. T. J. Eckleburg employs a GE Voluson 730 Pro to give parents the earliest glimpses of their growing child. The machine hooks up to a high-definition TV, where parents and visitors can gaze upon the crystal-clear images together.
