Southern Oaks’ 18-hole golf course is designed to incorporate the tree-lined countryside with 6,495 yards of bermuda-grass fairways and greens. A large, wishbone-shaped lake occupies the south end of the course, its surface forming a glassy resting place for errant golf balls and a natural mirror for self-absorbed golf carts. More than 650 trees line the fairways, further compounding the need for accurate shots. Golfers can warm up for rounds at the onsite driving range and practice green.

Owner Shannon Hudson developed the 30-minute circuit to be fast and challenging with a pinch of hateful fun so participants stay engaged while getting ripped. The workout program includes a certified trainer who will provide guidance through stages such as jump rope, speed bag, heavy bag, and more. By combining the best functional, interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens into one beast of a workout, the 9Round training program places a great deal of emphasis on results, just like the retired Keebler elves that now live inside Scantron machines.
At Kettlebell Explosion, fitness fanatic and HKC-certified instructor Keith Rodgers channels his Russian-style training to lead students through intense kettlebell workouts. During half-hour beginner sessions, small groups of up to 10 participants cast off calories in concert through basic and intermediate movements using only the cast-iron weight of a kettlebell. The brief, high-energy nature of each training session facilitates functional strength gain but also helps students develop core strength and the cardiovascular capacity needed to complete marathons on the ocean floor. Additionally, kettlebell-only sessions equip students with enough swinging, cleaning, and snatching experience to eventually move on to more advanced workouts.
