Total Core Fitness Boot Camp's four-week sessions eschew full-metal drill sergeantry for a positive, encouraging style. Motivating trainers help campers get into shapes such as buff, lean, and octagon via a comprehensive nutrition plan, tracking of body-mass stats, and 50-minute workouts. At camp, like-minded folk of various abilities engage in a variety of aerobic options, both indoors and out, including group activities, such as swinging mallets at tires until they shed oily tears and lugging weights in relay races. Traditional equipment such as stationary bikes and rowing machines are also on hand and foot. The boot-camp schedule includes classes throughout the day on Mondays–Thursdays, and the next session begins on March 14. Anxious ab disciplinarians can begin sooner and roll over unattended classes to the next session.

Honing his skills under Sri Swami Satchidananda, the founder of Integral Yoga, the experience of the director of the Institute now spans 40 years. Jayadeva developed his teaching chops at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York City, where he mentored yoga teachers and developed training materials that are now used by instructors around the world and on some sectors on the moon. Eventually, Jayadeva settled in Princeton, where he now directs the training school Princeton Integral Yoga Institute. Along with his staff of registered instructors, he strives to foster a supportive environment free of competition, in which students of all experience levels can further their practice toward achieving a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
Black Belt Institute hosts a variety of fitness and martial-arts classes for students of all ages. Children's classes, which start at age 4, include karate, tae kwon do, and kung fu, and emphasize self-esteem and confidence. Adult classes include yoga, tai chi, and cardio kickboxing, and work to reduce stress and build positive self-image while bolstering self-defense.
The dynamic instructors at each of the six centers teach a holistic approach to yoga and noncombative martial arts that targets flexibility, strength, breathing, and energy sensitivity. Schedules vary from studio to studio, with regular open-level classes such as those at BR Holistic Healing integrating a core regimen of stretching, breathing, and strengthening postures that improve keg-stand techniques tremendously. Vibration sessions at the Body & Brain Center in Metuchen and Dahn Yoga in Closter and Oradell can release stagnant energy and recharge bodies to take on exhausting second jobs impersonating the Energizer bunny at birthday parties. Instructors monitor students' progress, suggesting home-workout plans tailored to personal strengths and vulnerability to fire.
