Camp Gladiator founder Ally Davidson?s childhood obsession with the outdoors and sports led her to pursue a degree in exercise physiology. After her 2008 win on the TV show American Gladiators, Ally decided to share her love of fitness with the world at large. Camp Gladiator reflects Ally's passion for fitness in its mission, which espouses their desire "to positively impact the physical fitness and ultimately the lives of as many people as possible." During Camp Gladiator Total Transformation, participants lose weight and gain energy in a friendly, positive environment. Over four-weeks, trainers focus on accountability, competition, motivation, and fun at multiple locations. Results are tracked during fitness assessments, body composition tests, and a fitness calendar, while nutrition counseling helps to maximize those results. Click here to view before and after images.
Davidson also leads boot camps in 13 U.S. cities, with each hosting multiple training locales. The upbeat staff of certified personal trainers lead patrons of all ages and fitness levels through four-week outdoor boot camps, earning Camp Gladiator a Hot Spot title from Women's Health magazine's Fitness Awards in 2013, Best Boot Camp from Rare magazine in 2010, Best of Big D 2010?2013 from D magazine, and Best Outdoor Boot Camp 2012 from Austin Fit magazine.
Fit Body Boot Camp's instructors all over the world share a common goal: to help clients hit their fitness and weight-loss goals with regimented training programs. Trainers lead group workouts that combine cardio with resistance exercises, strength training, and light alligator wrestling. They design the workouts to be as time-effective as possible and vary the routines constantly to avoid workout plateaus that can leave clients feeling uninspired. Trainers empower their students with healthy eating guidelines to keep motivation high outside of class.
During one-on-one sessions, certified personal trainers plan out tailored fitness programs, which clients can take with them to Fit Body Boot Camp’s gyms to continue shaping up on their own.
Rebecca Wood and Ryan Deichert combine their passions for empowering fitness styles at a studio where students of all skill levels can learn self-defense or relaxation techniques during their workouts. Rebecca began teaching yoga in 1999, creating a signature alignment-based Iyengar-style yoga that she personally teaches to each instructor she employs. Instructors guide students through poses such as bends and inversions, incorporating posture-buoying props and instructional pop-up books when needed to relieve mental and physical tension. Ryan taps into more than 15 years of Brazilian jujitsu training to teach amateur martial artists of all sizes and fitness levels how to safely extricate themselves from dangerous situations or escape from overeager bear hugs.
The certified personal trainers at Starka Fitness guide exercisers through fun full-body workouts that cultivate strength, balance, and muscle tone. TRX suspension training employs sturdy straps to turn the human body into its own weight machine. Instructors draw from more than 300 bodyweight exercises to help build strong, flexible muscles in the arms, abs, and back. One-hour boot-camp sessions burn calories by pairing indoor and outdoor strength-training drills with cardio exercises, enabling campers to swim through quicksand with confidence. All campers meet with a trainer before the first class, where they set goals to accomplish through jumping rope, tossing medicine balls, and lifting kettlebells. During Pilates sessions, up to 20 students fortify torso muscles and sculpt lean, flexible limbs with stretches and precisely controlled movements. Contact the studio for its latest schedule of classes and Mr. Universe birthdays.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We keep clients motivated by offering encouragement and guidance while making them accountable. If they miss a couple sessions, we call to check up on them. We also provide alternative techniques to accommodate all of our clients. Monthly weigh-ins and measurements are done to track progress. Incentives are offered for goals met. We are not Crossfit?we are group fitness! We are a fitness family.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
Sessions are a combination of body-weight exercises, team relays, partner exercises, squats, jumps, and weight training. Anything to keep the body moving, burning calories, and building lean healthy bodies from the inside out. Clients never know what to expect when walking in the door, other than that they'll leave with an amazing feeling of accomplishment.
Has your business won any awards?
No awards yet, but we've completed the Gasparilla 15K, Color me Rad 5K, and Mud Endeavor 5K.
Within Elite Gamespeed’s sprawling indoor and outdoor training facility, fitness newbies and professional athletes—including Tampa safety Cody Grimm—stretch, lift, and sprint through varied fitness regimes. Crash pads line a 55-yard-long indoor turf field, where certified boot-camp instructors command exercisers to run, jump, and lunge their way to trim physiques. For more sports-specific workouts, indoor and outdoor batting cages launch spheres at batters, and competitors can increase their speed, agility, and ability to escape quicksand in the outdoor sand pit, which primes legs for acceleration, deceleration, and fancy footwork. Specially designed kids' programs boost tykes' motor skills and coordination with sports scrimmages, relay races, and team-building exercises.
In addition to its motivating trainers, Elite Gamespeed also staffs licensed massage therapists to assuage aching muscles and physical therapists to rehabilitate injuries and damaged egos. After a challenging workout, patrons can unwind on plush couches in the center's spacious athlete's lounge stocked with a 60-inch TV and PlayStation 3.
