A city's identity encompasses many elements, from its history and architecture to its art and culture. With Graff Tours, groups peek into each of those realms through a single lens: graffiti. During tours, guides and graffiti experts lead groups through the streets of major cities, including the birthplace of graffiti, Philadelphia. They showcase various types of art along the way?classic graffiti, wheat paste, stencil art, yarn bombing, and more?while explaining the content and importance of each piece. Much like blaring an Alexander the Great speech on your car speakers, tours are a mix of old and new, simultaneously highlighting the history of graffiti and demonstrating where the art is headed today. In addition to its group treks, Graff Tours also offers self-guided maps designed for specific neighborhoods for DIY excursions.
Fluent City's campuses train tongues in the basics and nuances of up to 10 languages, depending on location, through interactive group classes. Experienced teachers introduce groups of students to vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation in a student's chosen language. Languages are divided based on students' incoming level of proficiency, and group courses run for a total of 20 hours. Although not included with the class, students can also meet with instructors in flexible private lessons tailored to each pupil's individual needs.
The recipe for a successful cooking class requires the right mix of teacher, chef, and nutritionist—a balance that each instructor strikes at Young Chef Academy. They host students aged 4–18 in weekly cooking classes which regularly change recipes while sticking to the monthly theme. They cater to individual children, school field trips, and even scout troops. They even teach kids how to make their own treats during birthday parties, such as birthday cakes that come out of the oven already on fire and ready to be blown out.

Frances Kweller, an attorney, educator, and the entrepreneur behind Kweller Prep, was the first person in her immediate family to attend a top college--New York University?s Steinhardt School of Education--and graduate program--Hofstra University School of Law. Not surprisingly, this inspired her to open her tutoring and test-preparation center after she got her law degree in order to help other hardworking students achieve their own dreams. Now, many of the students who use Kweller's services have followed suit in being the first of their families to attend a top high school or college on scholarship.
Her education center's locations in Forest Hills, midtown Manhattan, and Los Angeles serve more than 1,500 families a year with everything from in-person and Skype tutoring to SAT and SHSAT prep courses, offering both one-on-one and small group services. Kweller Prep is staffed by an impressive cadre of 32 multilingual tutors, who have scored in the 99th percentile on a variety of state and national exams. The tutors also work with many adults, teaching them new technologies and helping them brush up on common job skills when they've been out of the workforce. They even coordinate college visits for students who want to attend schools such as Harvard, NYU, Princeton, and Yale, as well as graduate schools.
