  • ESSA Salon & Spa
Many people dream of winning an award at the Emmys, but Veronica Brayman has actually done it. Four times, in fact, for her outstanding achievements while working on As The World Turns. In addition to styling soap stars, Veronica also primped daytime talk-show hosts throughout her 17-year career. Today, she puts that authoritative expertise into running ESSA Salon & Spa, where she and her staff of stylists work with hair products including Redken, Cutler, and Kérastase to turn standard salon services, such as haircuts and color work, into opportunities for red-carpet treatment. Veronica isn’t the only one with plenty of styling experience; many of the other staff members have been plying their trades for more than a decade, too. From senior colorist Rich Delloff’s quarter-century body of work built in New York City, Long Island, and even Las Vegas to designer Arsen Aronov’s background in New York City salons such as John Frieda, the team’s collective résumé is strong. It even includes a massage therapist, Maria Luciana, who has almost 20 years of experience. Drawing on the salon's arsenal of products, including Veronica's ESSA line of hair and makeup products and Yon-Ka Paris skincare concoctions, the stylists design detailed and flattering bridal packages, which make bridesmaids sparkle like champagne, groomsmen shine like new coins, and fire eaters look hot enough to melt Pluto.

  • Ideal Message and Wellness
For more than 25 years, chiropractor Phil Dolcimascolo has eschewed the use of surgery or drugs to rehabilitate his clients. Instead, he focuses on gentle, noninvasive chiropractic services and smart, preventative care to keep his patients healthy and pain-free. Each visitor first undergoes a thorough consultation, telling the practitioner about any past or current health issues, how long aches have been persisting, and how they may be interfering with daily life. From there, treatments might include gentle adjustments, different forms of massage, or other individualized treatments to help ease physical tension and stress.

  • CS Therapeutic Massage
The team at the core of CS Therapeutic Massage draw from varied backgrounds in massage and therapeutic bodywork to ease their clients' sore muscles. Because of this focus on pain relief, they view themselves more as a wellness center than a spa. They work knots from muscles with massages that incorporate Swedish strokes or other techniques such as myofacial. One of their signature services is a fusion massage, which uses hot basalt and cold marble stones in tandem to lower inflammation while melting away muscle tension. The atmosphere at CS Therapeutic Massage is just as relaxing as the services.

  • Kure Yoga Studio
Although Kure Spa teaches students how to stretch during yoga classes, massages achy muscles, and pours wholesome organic blends from its juice bar, the health center's heart is the Vibrosaun. During each Vibrosaun session, two therapies combine: therapeutic dry heat and vibration. This potent mix can work wonders, helping to treat back pain and arthritis, reduce the appearance of cellulite, lower stress, and even detoxify.
