West Coast Sports and Fitness Center gets bodies into shape under the guidance of owner Steven Sanchez and director of fitness Ron Carter. Sanchez is guided by 12 years of experience working with doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors, during which time he studied how the body functions and improves through activity. Meanwhile, Carter has spent more than 21 years coaching men, women, and children across a variety of sports and is a certified personal trainer and sports-injury specialist.
Inside a spacious fitness center, Steven and Ron oversee a staff of instructors who lead students through cardio kickboxing, boot camps, and Zumba. Athletes can also train on a tract of turf inside the center that simulates a real-life sports field or the furry back of an imaginary green monster.
Salsa, Bachata, Mambo. The instructors at DanceSport California really shine when they're teaching these and other Latin dances, which are the central focus of their dance classes. At No Limits Sports and Fitness Academy, Alisha Lopez, facility owner and trainer, works with a hand-picked staff to give clients exactly the kind of training they want. Inside a 15,700-square-foot space, she works with clients one-on-one, while other trainers lead group boot camps, teach yoga, and run sports drills. In addition to being a trainer, Lopez holds a Life Coach certification, which enables her to help clients lead happier lives, which in turn empowers them to stop living vicariously through The Game of Life.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
We are a private women's facility, and we offer both group fitness classes as well as one on one personal training. Our group fitness program offers classes ranging from pole fitness and burlesque chair workouts to yoga, step aerobics, and ballet. There is a little bit of everything to keep people interested.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
We keep our class sizes small to ensure a welcoming, safe, and fun environment for women.
