At Cinnabon, the aroma of scrumptious baked goods wafts through the air as chilled beverages help sate the snack appetites of weary mallwalkers. Munch on a variety of cinnamon-infused treats, such as the Cinnabon classic roll, temptingly filled with Cinnabon’s famous makara cinnamon ($3.49), or the caramel Pecanbon, topped with an edible medley of luscious caramel and tasty pecans ($3.79). An assortment of goodies can be toted home for hungry broods in one of the stores’ regular Cinnapacks ($11.99 for four, $16.99 for six), and a 15-pack Minibon box ($18.99) is perfect for a sparsely attended reunion of former Power Rangers. After snacking, revitalize taste buds with a cup of iced coffee ($2.49–$3.49) or the chocolate-augmented, frosty Mochalatta Chill ($3.49–$4.19), a more refreshing way to cool down than a game of patty-cake against a polar bear.
After three generations of pastry-making, Joseph Caputo of Caputo's Pastry Shoppe leads his crew in crafting each paper-thin layer of the sfogliatelle by hand. Since 1923, the pastries emerging from the bakery's ovens have been made from scratch, including the cannolis, pasticottis, and rum cakes. This hand-crafting is what's referred to as Old World style, as opposed to the New World style of scanning and printing desserts.
In 1966, The Yellow Door was a small jewelry shop in Brooklyn. Owners Sallee Bijou and Gladys Chabbot only had 600 square feet of space to work with, so they decided to focus on quality over quantity. Today, their business has expanded to include a store in New Jersey and an updated 6,000-square-foot store in Brooklyn, but the commitment to unique, quality jewelry hasn’t changed. Today, Bijou’s daughter, Luna Bijou Zemmol, oversees the selection of jewelry and watches from the likes of Judith Ripka, Philip Stein, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren, as well as gift items such as crystal salt-and-pepper shakers and stainless-steel kitchenware.

Beach Bum Bakery serves up homemade and sweet treats from their shop on main street. Gooey sticky buns, hearty scones, and artfully decorated cupcakes vie for attention behind the shiny glass displays of the brightly lit bakery. Cupcake flavors and decorations change with the seasons, with jack ‘o lanterns and spiders webs to celebrate Halloween and paper shredders to celebrate April 15.
Erica Lieberman's lifelong affinity for baking began in her mother's kitchen 25 years ago. Since then, Erica has turned her passion for making treats into Whipped Bites, where she churns out cupcakes in a variety of sweet flavors. Featured cupcakes include apple pie with cinnamon-apple cake and vanilla-cream-cheese frosting and the PB&J, or peanut-butter cake filled with grape jelly and topped with vanilla-bean frosting.
When visiting a frozen yogurt shop, one is typically prepared to encounter blinding, fruit-colored paint and undersized furniture. But, though it contains the requisite row of self-serve machines and toppings bar, Bliss Yogurt Cafe instead plays more of a resemblance to an upscale downtown cafe. Wood accents and earth tones form the groundwork of the decor, accompanied by intimate tables and comfy couches. And, in addition to cups of frozen yogurt and ice cream dappled with fresh fruits and candies, guests can opt for milk shakes, real 100% real fruit smoothies, baked goods, and gourmet coffee drinks such as caffe latte, cappuccino, and hot and cold flavored coffee.
