Music Education Centers of America’s melody makers spark musical discovery in students of all ages and experience levels with lessons in vocals, guitar, bass, drums, percussion, brass, woodwinds, and string instruments. Whether students are forming a rock band or composing a series of jingles for the local blacksmith, they can hone their talents under the guidance of established performers and educators. The center offers private lessons six days a week, tailoring times to customers’ schedules. Teachers help burgeoning musicians select instructional books to purchase, while seasoned artists may bring their own material and lists of potential stage aliases. In addition to lessons, MECA houses a full-service music store, stocking print music, accessories, guitars, and stray quarter notes seeking adoptive homes. Upright pianos, grands, Yamaha digital pianos and keyboards, and Lowrey organs are also available to be specially ordered. MECA also provides a variety of on-site rentals. The centers’ Fun Over 50 program offers lessons to seniors, offering grandparents an opportunity to develop their musical talents and bond with grandchildren by rapping over complex barbershop harmonies.

The licensed educators at Kindermusik help enrich family relationships and bolster kiddies' mental development through interactive, music-focused play dates. Children from newborns to 7-year-olds can investigate the world of sound waves through age-specific sessions of sing-alongs, musical compositions, and sound barrier-breaking drum solos. ACE Music & Me sessions foster reading and language skills through dance and rhyme, and Village classes stimulate cognitive growth through musical activities. Guardians are encouraged to pick up a tambourine and belt out a note alongside their musical wards. After each pressure-free play date, Kindermusik instructors outfit each parent with a number of after-class activities suited to their child's developmental level and ability to impersonate Dick Clark.

Meander through the majestic soundscapes of Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven performed by the Opole Philharmonic of Poland, Poland's leading orchestra and sausage juggling consortium. These masters of regal reverberation have performed with notable virtuosic soloists throughout the world and tour extensively abroad to critical and audience acclaim. Horn hounds can choose to lubricate auditory valves with the glossy harmonies of Empire Brass, boasting an international reputation as North America's finest brass quintet. “Routine is the enemy,” say the trainers at CrossFit Alpha Dog, whose students never see the same workout twice. Since the body adjusts to repetitive workouts, the team keeps it guessing by mixing up exercises with unpredictable combinations of organic movements, sprinting, plyometrics, and gymnastics. These workouts are designed to improve functional strength—practical musclepower that head trainer Tommy Moon calls upon during his firefighting career and that students may need when carrying an injured person to safety or a healthy person to a salad bar.

The gym itself reflects this functional approach. Gymnastic rings dangle from webbings of monkey bars, and a wide-open space offers ample room for lunges, sprints, and push-ups.
