The epidermal advocates at Boone's Creek Medical––a physician-owned and operated center––reveal faces' most radiant aspects through microdermabrasion treatments. Visages recline as skin expert Selena Hoyle buffs away their outermost shell of dead and dehydrated skin cells, unveiling the luminous layer underneath. The 60-minute session leaves countenances visibly smoother, shrinks signs of acne and sun damage, and curtails the fine lines caused by smitten eyebrows that won't stop canoodling.
The smile-savvy staff at Grace Dental maintains mouths in a friendly office that satisfies spines with its comfortable chairs. During the one-hour appointment, Dr. Thomas sojourns into facial caves in search of cavities, gum disease, and remnants of digested treasure maps. A set of bitewing x-rays reveals the depth of cavities or any other hidden issues at the sides of the mouth, and a panoramic x-ray snaps a shot of the entire oral underworld, revealing networks of roots and the positioning of teeth. A skilled hygienist then bathes teeth in a fountain of foam and floss, sloughing off plaque and clearing tongues of debris and memories of mispronounced words.
The PCIA-certified climbing instructors at Rock Dimensions lead guests through a variety of vertical activities that range from the in-air discovery course to half-day or full-day rock-climbing excursions. Using their years of rock-climbing experience and local expertise, they teach all levels and ages, and equip guests with harnesses and helmets for all vertical activities.
The trainers at Thank Dog! Bootcamp tap into dogs' energy and devotion to motivate humans to get into shape. Bootcamps cater to two-legged and four-legged participants at the same time. Instructors divide each 60-minute workout into 10-minute segments alternating between cardio, obedience training, and doggie downtime while humans perform strength-training drills. In addition to being a good form of exercise, the classes instill basic obedience-training techniques that can be used at home.
Stepping onto Reems Creek Golf Course, you may get the feeling you've been transported to the Scottish Highlands. Course architects Hawtree & Sons designed the layout to suggest that region's rolling topography, its sense of quiet solitude, and its roving bands of Brigadoon extras. Undulating hills seem to shift under the shadows of trees swaying in the wind, and dense forest in the foreground gives way to majestic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The 18-hole, 6,492-yard course tests players' mettle with a number of challenges. The long, slightly curved drive of hole 3 seems an open shot, but a guarding sand bunker punishes ill-aimed drives for the green. Hole 16 ups the ante with a pond and two sand bunkers directly in front of the cup.

Each of YMCA of Western North Carolina's five branches and 19 childcare sites remains true to its lasting mission of physical and social enrichment for men, women, and kids of all ages. Staff members uphold the YMCA’s core values of honesty, caring, responsibility, and respect as they invest in their community’s children and strengthen family bonds critically weakened by overzealous games of Monopoly. They pump up adult fitness regimens with aquatic fitness and boot-camp classes, basketball courts, and personal-training sessions. They’ve also filled their fitness centers with free weights, cardio equipment, and weight machines. When they’re not helping adults trim down waistlines during cardio-dance and aerobics classes, staff members are getting back in touch with their inner children. They stimulate imagination, mental development, and growth as they lead more than 200 programs, including children’s day camps, after-school programs, and dance classes.
