Founded in 2002, Brooklyn Ballet's mission is to create ballets flush with artistic excellence and innovation that delight audience members. With this goal in mind, the not-for-profit professional dance company works with writers, visual artists, and even hackers to design pieces that are reflective of Brooklyn's diverse communities. Before dancers hit the stage, they can get their reps in at the downtown state-of-the-art studio, which features a column-free dance space, wood-sprung floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows. And for those who just want to hone their skills without brining them on stage, the instructors lead recreational classes for adults and kids.
We are a Ballroom and Latin Dance Studio and are proud to say that we have been in business since 1991. From private lessons to our wide variety of group dance and fitness classes we have something to offer for everyone!
At offices in Great Neck and Floral Park, Dr. Lauren Schwartz leads a podiatric team that’s been keeping feet and ankles healthy for about 20 years. The office addresses general podiatry care for bunions, fractures, heel pain, neuromas, orthotics and diabetic foot care; patients can also opt for a bit of pampering: specially designed sterile pedicures keep toes relaxed and looking their best, and sterile manicures do the same for fingers. The foot facial gets skin ready for open-toed shoes and glass slippers.
Queens Dance Project’s team of lifelong dancers coach students through workout-oriented dance routines. During the newly unveiled pole-dancing workshops, students build muscle tone while executing spins and tricks under dimmed studio lights. Alternatively, Zumba classes keep heart rates high by pairing hip-swiveling moves with Latin beats, and tap-dancing sessions teach students how to make it rain using just their shoes. Youngsters can also build coordination and confidence at the studio, which has an age-stratified youth program to nurture kids 2 years and older with mat work and musical instruments.
