In addition to cutting and colorizing locks, Sanctuary’s staffers can apply permanent waves, Jheri curls, or straightening treatments that do not involve weighing tresses down with specially warped dictionaries. On the second floor, private treatment rooms host nail services, waxing, massages, Dermalogica facials, and Mac makeup applications.

When Michelle Parkes opened Core Salon & Spa, she didn't want just another cookie-cutter business. After spending two years as a national educator for Paul Brown Hawaii and 25 years working for other owners, she decided she wanted to do a salon her way. Her way was to surround herself with an unparalleled group of stylists, support staff, and a moat to guard against invading paparazzi. The end result was Core Salon & Spa, a beauty center manned by skilled stylists that use quality products from brands such as Yon-Ka, L'Oreal Professionnel, and Kevin Murphy.

Massage therapists, fitness instructors, and nutritional consultants join forces at Pocono Body Wellness Studio to promote holistic health in all its forms. Therapists destress musculature with acupuncture and numerous massage modalities as instructors lead fitness classes such as yoga, Pilates, and cycling. Elsewhere in the studio, dietitians devise custom nutrition regimens, and resident aestheticians further enhance bodies with facials, waxes, and mani-pedis. The diverse staff makes frequent contributions to charities, donating 5% of the proceeds of every massage package they book to a children's hospital in Philadelphia.
