Set in the same Englewood location for more than 30 years, The Hair Place prides itself on having cut the hair of multiple generations of their clients and on having become a part of the community. The owners believe their laid-back, friendly vibe and the expertise of their licensed stylists inform the salon's longevity. Not only do they boast these essentials, but the staff even speaks several different languages to communicate with a wide range of customers: English, Spanish, French, and HTML5.
They specialize in on-trend haircuts and hair-replacement services, such as bonding, hair extensions, and attachments. The Hair Place's stylists are as comfortable performing a Brazilian straightening treatment as they are streaking sun-kissed highlights into hair. They welcome patrons to sink into cushy leather chairs as they wait for their turn in the styling area of light-filled space.
For more than 80 years, Vincent's Rejuvenate Salon & Day Spa has watched beauty trends come and go, folding finger curls, piling beehives, primping pompadours, and layering Rachel cuts. Although the styles have changed, the one constant through the decades has been the staff's ability to make each client feel at home. From the salon floor, stylists engage in spirited banter as they pamper clients with J Beverly Hills and Goldwell color and conditioning treatments. With a thick dose of joviality, Vincent's aestheticians spend their days brightening complexions with green-tea-infused paraffin masks and Sothys vitamin C facials. During mani-pedi treatments, technicians decorate digits with Essie and OPI polishes while scribbling ”Best friendz 4 lyf” on each nail.
Christopher, "The Man Behind the Chair" and the artistic director of Salon Salon, calls on his three decades of professional experience to lead his staff, encouraging hairdressers to approach hairdressing as an art form. The salon?s team pursues this goal, aided by the training tucked into their tool belts beside shears, clippers, and curling irons.
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Here at Get Twisted, we strive to offer our guests the most relaxing experiences. Most of our guests enjoy the sweet, soothing sound of calm, blissful spa music. Some appreciate the free aromatherapy that we throw in. Or maybe it's the fact that all out massages are performed in a candlelit room.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I, Supreme, the owner of Get Twisted, value good customer service. I started my business back in 2002 and I have no regrets whatsoever. I truly value my guests and I plan on doing this for many years to come.
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting different people and I enjoy the great conversations we have. I myself am not a masseuse, I just own the business, but whenever a guest leaves my establishment with a smile,
it makes me happy.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
This Facebook review: "I swear on everything I love, I completely adore this place, great service, great results, and the best massage ever! Thank you."
After spending 15 years working in the wedding industry, beautifying brides-to-be with personalized makeup and henna tattoos, Pritee Gupta and Leena Dedhia realized their dream: to make their treatments available to a broader client base. So they created Mei Salon, where guests can experience their signature eyebrow threading services while listening to calming music. Their skilled staff crafts dazzling highlights and updos and banishes stress with relaxing hot-oil massages and Ayurvedic facials steeped in ancient traditions. The salon also hosts spa parties for kids and adults, which are ideal for celebrating birthdays, girls' nights out, or a decision not to pursue the Guinness World Record for longest toenails.
