Completed in 2010, Midtown Arts Center, formerly Carousel Dinner Theatre, was converted from a movie theater to a cultural and performing arts center, where an array of actors and entertainers regale audiences in the year-round murder mystery dinner show, The Dinner Detective, as well as intimate performances of Broadway hits such as The Sound of Music and the upcoming Shrek the Musical. Midtown Arts Center’s four venues accommodate events of all stripes: the Ballroom and Grand Hall both welcome private and corporate events, the Dinner Theatre grants enough elbow room to dig into hearty dinners from its menu, and Theatre One's Young Audience Series excites youngsters with children’s shows and promises to abolish all pop quizzes.
Rising Lotus Yoga and Massage’s experienced instructors guide students from all walks of life during daily Vinyasa yoga classes to help build strength, flexibility, and tranquility. To help each pupil grow, teachers dispense personalized feedback while walking groups through poses and breathing exercises in a vibrant, dance-like flow. Students of all skill levels, including new students and those recovering from injuries, follow along with instructors, getting pose modifications to make each movement accessible and understandable.
Friday-night flows summon a spirit of giving as Rising Lotus Yoga partners with local charities to donate all of the proceeds to charity. Filled with gentle stretches and easy-to-follow poses, prenatal and restorative classes pepper the schedule with alternatives to athletic Vinyasa sessions. To complement the slate of yoga classes, the studio’s owner, massage therapist Amanda Workman-Lutter, relaxes muscles and treats pain with a variety of massage modalities.
No matter the weather, The Hot Room's temperature always hovers at or above 100 degrees. Although the heat might sound intimidating, the studio thoroughly readies practitioners with information for newcomers and ongoing encouragement throughout classes. Teachers guide students through postures with verbal or physical instruction, emphasizing alignment and balance. Hot yoga classes take customers through a variety of poses and sequences to target various muscles.
Led by owner Rebekah Cunningham, The Hot Room's certified yoga instructors share a passion for the heated yoga style. In addition to constantly deepening their own practice, the instructors strive to help students of all abilities achieve stronger bodies and clearer minds.
Colorado native and studio owner Patsy Juarez lives to move. Before moving to Denver to earn her bachelor of science in business management, she spent her days rollerblading and lifting weights and her evenings recovering at her night-shift job. Her passion for exercise eventually led her to yoga and spinning, which she and her team of instructors now combine to share with guests of all fitness levels at The Spinning Yogi. The spin-yoga hybrid class is split into 30 minutes of yoga-infused cycling, followed by 30 minutes of Vinyasa-style yoga, which helps bikes recover from mad chain disease. The studio also offers more traditional stretch sessions, in which yogis grace their mats with meditative-focused practices, prenatal modifications, and hot-yoga poses.
Within iLiv Yoga’s heated studio, expert instructors lead students of all levels through six sweat-filled varieties of yoga classes. Passionate instructors lead students through traditional Vinyasa flow postures, combining breath and movement as the studio’s elevated temperatures open up limbs and deepen stretches. They also lead classes set to music for more experienced yogis, allowing the rhythms of the music to set the pace of the class, be it a soothing jazz tempo or the cacophonous sound of a marching band trying to break the land speed record.
